I notice the Decoded back side cover for the 13 mini this year looks darker than last years leather? I was between that one or the Midnight leather. Really would like to order one of the Decoded but hard to tell the color from just a few pics online and of course they are pre-order until Nov.
From pictures I’ve seen of last years case, I would say it’s definitely darker out of the box. To me it looks similar to the bourbon color that Bullstrap uses.
FYI the best buy case also came with free subscription to +news and apple music. I think 6 months of both? I get mine today, will post pictures
I have a couple of questions for Bullstrap owners. I’m close to pulling the trigger on the case in either ocean or black, but in searching this thread I’ve seen some photos where the ocean looks darker than the images on the Bullstrap website, and a couple that actually look lighter. Are the ocean images on the BS website accurate? Also, how‘s the bottom on the pinky finger? I’m a little concerned that the ridge might be uncomfortable to hold, given the weight of the 13 Pro. Thoughts appreciated!
For anyone else interested in case + wallet combinations and stuck on ideas , I think the Midnight and Dark Cherry both compliment each other well:

Midnight is definitely not the old “black” leather colour we all knew. It’s a new take on black with some subtle indigo mixed in. I do like it. And personally I think it’s still pretty close to black. It’s like you almost get two colours in one, navy and black, but definitely like 80% black 20% navy - it’s very subtle, from a distance definitely passed as black

I got my best buy case today and will be returning it. Great leather but it's loose, same issue I had with the several apple cases I tried.
However I also got my Journey case today and will definitely be keeping it! Very tight fit, excellent leather. Many won't like the open bottom but I prefer it. Only issue is it took weeks to get delivered as its coming from Australia. I highly recommend it though. Mine is the 12 version but the new 13 version has a closed bottom. I like this so much I may just order the other version as well.

That looks so clean! With the nice aluminum buttons and the embossed Apple logo I always go back to them
Agreed. I especially love that you can see the stainless frame around the screen. Every year prior I've started with a leather case and bought a bunch of others before eventually ending up back in the leather. So far this year, I've been able to hold off so this is my one and only case.
Try to stick only with the leather. Just keep saying no!
I'm the same way lol, except I've now been buying the leather case first and then others. I used to end up buying the leather case last and then sticking with it.
Having only the Apple leather, it's nice because I just go caseless and then with the leather on and off as I please.
I've been able to so far! I was really tempted by the Nomad but hearing the bottom of the case is unchanged from last year completely eliminates that for me.
I thought the fit seemed much tighter this year for the apple leather cases. Just a couple hours after buying my case though, I found a corner popped out in my pocket.
It's so bizarre. It's like the QA team never experienced loose corners when they were testing the redesign last year.
The fit is definitely tighter, but still the bottom left corner is just loose enough to pop out some. I think they need to just do like everyone else and have the case wrap around the bezel more.
One more thing to add about the Journey case, imo it’s a better buy than getting a Bullstrap or a Nomad. Nomads buttons are not good amd the bullstrap camera bump isn’t as protective and looks worse. And both cost more.
I had thought about the Journey but the 13 version is completely open around the volume and power buttons which I did not like the look of. Much prefer leather all around with metal buttons.
