Maybe Belroy, Nomad, or Mous. But those will all have the rubber / plastic sides. If you want full leather plus heavy duty shock protection you might be out of luck.

Leather and drop protection are two words that generally don’t go together. Sure, they provide some but it’s more for the aesthetic look. Maybe Nomad that has a leather back and rubber sides I believe (or some material not leather).
I don't think you're going to get good protection then. It will probably be good enough to protect the stainless steel sides, but just the shock from an impact could be enough to break the glass. I just got a Mujjo leather case which is similar to Apples and I have really no confidence in the case to protect my 14PM from a fall. Probably just going to use the case for special occasions only lol. I'm looking to buy either Nomad or Dbrand. Nomad keeps a more elegant look while giving it protective sides.

I agree 100%. Got mine today as well. As soon as you open it you really get a smell of the leather. The build quality is phenomenal. Now I know what I have been missing all these years using the Apple leather. I was close to cancelling as well as I already had a Bullstrap preordered. I am really leaning toward cancelling that order as I don’t see it getting any better than this (and the bottom is closed off).
Yeah this is probably the best case I've ever owned. Can't wait to see how it evolves.
I second that from a leather case perspective. Did you cancel your Bullstrap order?
Is it just on that one side or uniform all the way around? On the Apple leather, the frame is visible all the way around.
Did you do anything to the case or is it aging naturally? In your photo it looks like it is getting darker in some areas... actual patina is back??

Purchased Camel Tan from Andar tonight. I originally bought the Apple Forest Green but I just can’t bring myself to use it knowing it’s much cheaper quality leather. Some of the pics of seen of the terrible quality after months of use is just disappointing. Will be returning it this weekend. Looking forward to a quality patina with the Andar case.
I feel the same way. I received my $160 lucrin “vegetable tanned” leather and it feels like cheap plastic. Totally disappointed, so I’m back using my crazy horse craft sleeve.
A lot of tough choices this year Andar with their new leather case and even though Apples leather cases won’t patina like they use it’s still nice to see good color options like ink very reminiscent of the old midnight blue if you catch it in the right lighting like in pic below
hi, I use the phone with this case normally after using acetone to remove that thick coating on the back.
Interesting. Did you add any oils or balms after the acetone?
From a color standpoint, no doubt Ink is a solid color this year. The quality of the materials used is just not what it should be for something at that price mainly because of the logo embossed on the back. There are far better options in and around that price if your looking for better leather.
Whilst I have no doubt we will all be disappointed at the quality of leather Apple are using again…. Isn’t funny how so many are so presumptuous that the cases are rubbish and won’t wear nicely before they have been given a chance to do so 😄
I think it’s purely on the fact that the past two years were such a let down and nothing has changed in the process as far as anyone knows. They are still using the same cheap leather but throw their logo on the back just to charge an extra $20-$30 dollars more than it should be. Same thing goes with the Silicone cases but that’s the Apple premium.
I fully agree…. And I’m in the same boat.
I’ve parted with £60 for my Ink leather case. I can’t take myself away from the Apple form factor, I’m in the UK so don’t want to wait for a decent case to be shipped from the states and I know in six months time I’ll be wishing I did cos my apple case will be f***ed 😄😄
