Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Six months with the red leather case. Off and on usage. The rotation is black, red, and cornflower—in no particular order.

You guys are killing me here. Certainly had no intention on buying yet another case. However...all the cool photos of the saddle brown patina, hooked me right in. I just ordered one this morning.

Didn’t used to care about patina, but saddle brown changed all that! I switch between it, forest green and cornflower, but always seem to go back to SB. I do have one silicone (yuck greasy gross mess lol)

Seems like most of you let the patina develop on its own with the saddle brown case. I usually spray all my leather goods with waterproofing and then use Apple brand leather care every now and then to keep the leather supple.

Has anyone here used the waterproofing spray on their saddle brown. Does it darken it up a lot? On my leathers it does darken the leather a bit but I’m thinking it might really change the saddle brown almost too much.

Back into my midnight blue leather after spending a few weeks in midnight blue silicone. I love the way this looks as it is and kinda wish it would stay like this.

I let it dry and then used Apple leather care on it. The stain/spots disappeared and the case is now just overall a little darker then out of the box. I’m happy with the look and will now be on my way to some natural wear patina .

Awesome! Just be careful, as Apple leather cases tend to have very thin layers of leather. I have ruined them before by trying to darken them as eventually the liquid comes back up and undoes the glue holding the leather onto the plastic casing.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn’t soak it but used the same technique as I do with all my leather goods. I do pay close attention to the bottom inside edges as for me, they tend to scuff when putting on the case and taking it off. I’m going to just leave this one on the phone and let it age.

I'm wondering how that particular colour holds up with time and if it's one of the ones that just kinda starts to look dirty. Thinking of getting one for my XS to alternate with my midnight blue leather case for a bit of variety.

I suspect that it would be a colour that looks dirty and turns black over time

Oh it's awful! I don't baby my cases at all (they have to endure me crawling around on my roof and around while I'm scattering mulch...)

Also, I put decals over the logo because a girl needs a little sparkle, you know?

The 7 plus is my work phone, case is a few years old now. The iPhone X case was bought February of last year for 1/2 price (because of scratches). Used daily since for the last 15 months.

I thought so too, although the picture makes it look worse than in person. I just picked up a leather Dark Aubergine (for only $22) for the next few months until the new phones come out.

Does it fit an XS? My old aubergine felt super tight around the camera of my XS. Otherwise, I would buy all the aubergines I could get my hands on. I loved that case.

I’ve seen pictures and it’s like what you said, the X cases are tight around the camera of the XS. It squeezes around one of the corners of the camera cutout a little bit. I’m sure you can look past it, especially if you pay $22 for the Aubergine case like I did.

I have an X and Apple sold me the leather case for the XS and told me it was the same. Nope. When I buy an Apple case, I look for that refinement and perfect fit. Not a camera hole that doesn’t sit even but is off to the side.

I returned the XS case and was able to find the Apple black leather for the X at Best Buy. Then after seeing all the cool saddle brown ones on this thread, I had to have one. I found one on Amazon.

I’m loving the saddle brown and it’s getting just a tad bit of patina from general use.
