After just 2 weeks my midnight leather show some darker marks on the sides. A little bit disappointed about that.
When that happens just use alcohol wipes rubbing it even all throughout the case with slight even pressure and it does the trick eventually everything starts to even out

In my experience, rubbing with alcohol will get darker the “patina”.
Yeah, by doing this, you’re just wearing the case prematurely and removing any coatings that are on it

On lighter cases it can be an issue, but midnight looks fine this is my old 13 Pro Max Midnight

here’s a pic in natural light- hard to capture the true colour even here. It is more Bluey green in person. It’s the perfect, subtle colour IMO.

MagSafe is nice and strong. Probably somewhere between the Apple and RL strength.

Now that that out the box smell has died off, the natural leather smell has come through and is great.

Can’t believe after all these trial and errors of testing leather cases over the last 2/3 years and the perfect one is an Ali Express case.

is it darker/black on the sides from the factory? :(

It is darker on the sides, yeah - a very dark blue. The front end is the lighter blue so you can see the colour when using the phone

My Bullstrap Sienna just arrived. I’ve always wanted a bullstrap but could never justify the cost because I live in Canada. The shipping and Duty just make it so expensive. Amazingly they had them on Amazon for $62 including shipping and duty so I had to do it. Is smells and feels amazing. Now I understand why you guys rave about them.

P.s. it’s an iPhone 11. Because rounded sides are better 😜

Yesss welcome to the club! It looks great! I love my bullstraps. Right now I have sienna, bourbon and ocean. The bourbon looks amazing with my deep purple 14 pro. But I tend to always go back to sienna. I love the classic leather look and it looks amazing next to my lost Dutchman leather wallet 😍

FYI - Bullstrap international shipping is now 100 USD (more than cost of the case lol) irrespective of order size.

Tried to order 3 x cases to Australia and this was the only option. Out of sheer principle I refuse to pay that amount, given I ordered a Dune case 2 months ago with $16 shipping.

Must be recouping costs for all those free replacements after their bad batch lol (same shipping option now $85 more) - customer support says this is their new shipping rate.

Shipping to Canada is still $16USD but they never used to charge shipping for replacement products. I did just have to pay shipping for the replacement of my green Ocean case. We’ll see if I also end up paying duty as well…

Its only been three days but I can't get over just how good this Bullstrap is. Its on my desk next to me at work and my eyes keep going to it. The look, the smell, the feel. I know now why these are so expensive and am kicking myself for waiting so long. I can already see it begining to develop the early signs of patina where my fingers rest on it.

I would get one or Cretanbull or RL but I cannot abide the open bottom.

Curious why lots are still going for the apple leather on the 14, wasn't it confirmed its basically garbage and it falls apart instead of patina?

My Apple leather cases have never fallen apart or looked like garbage. I could post pics to prove that if you like. I’m sure if my husband used a leather case at work (factory), it would end up looking like garbage and fall apart in a very short time, but any leather case would under those circumstances.

I think the Apple cases are popular simply because a lot of people don’t know there are other options and don’t know about different leather qualities.

Having said that the Apple cases do tend to fit better than any other case. The leather quality should be better at this price point but if you want the best fitting case they are the best option.

For a lot of people the Apple case is good enough. For the rest of us there’s Bullstrap, Ryan London, Andar, etc.

Well said.

The Apple cases are king for most, especially the darker colors. The fact that most people don’t want to leave the store without protection for their shiny new toy is likely the reason for that.

If Apple sold anything with better leather I’d be willing to bet all my peanuts their case wouldn’t sell near as much.

Because of the assumed increase in price you mean?

Also, wouldn't more spur of the moment purchases most likely gravitate to the less expensive Silicone cases?
