The nap is the issue, yes. Doesn't matter how much you brush it, just like the area on shoes where the creases from bending form it will inevitably end up smooth because all the tiny hairs break off. Friction will make easy work of it and with a phone case there's A LOT of constant friction.

That suede gets a bad rep is neither here nor there, but yes it is because people are ignorant and too lazy to care for their shoes properly.

But when it comes to durability it is not a matter of opinion, it is basic physics.
I have seen alcantara be pretty durable from car interiors. Of course, this case may not be made out of the same tier of quality, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I think durability isn't so clear cut, especially since we have never handled these cases.

I’ve got the LONLI Edition case in hand and it’s surprisingly nice. It’s waxed leather, has button covers for all four buttons and has a nicely made microfiber lining. It doesn’t have much grain to it but smooth leather is an acceptable style too.

I’ve got the Belemay crazy horse case coming later today…

I have the same case, really like it so far.

So this was from IG stories on Bullstrap. Why would they ever be putting Top Grain on boxes of their cases if there 14s were full as well? This sounds like bs to me, and they are still shipping out the 15s with top grain.

I just want to remind everyone that you DONT have to get the bull strap lol

“Idk what full grain looks like is this an issue?? Can someone tell me what to think” cmon man 😂
Yep, whatever BS has used in the past has been great be it Full or Top I don't know. All I know is that they age beautifully and feel great in the hand. My issue with BS is their prices, shipping and having to pay duty on those insane prices. That's why I'm not buying BS this time. But the quality of the BS case is great, no doubts about it.

I just received the Lonli Edition and I have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised. The leather is smooth and it smells like leather. The buttons are clicky and the camera ring is not massive. For $25 bucks this is pretty nice. I think it is a keeper.

I remember when the prices shot up around the 12PM era. I got a 12pm case from them for like $60 but $90 is pushing it imo. Their cases are great though, i’ve always loved the quality. But after everything getting super expensive it’s a turnoff.

BS had an IG story where you could ask the CEO a question. I asked him if the cases are full or top grain and he answered the question.

Anyway, all BS cases are full grain leather and they just have a bunch of extra boxes that have been printed with “top grain” on it.

I ended up ignoring a couple profiles. It was 25+ pages of the same 2 people making the same complaints and asking the same questions.

This comment is rather funny as I can go back pages upon pages of everyone b****ing about the Apple leather cases over and over, and anytime anyone posts about them they say how ugly and poor quality they are. Just because you are a fan boy of Bullstrap doesn’t mean their without criticism. Hell I acknowledge the Apple leather case post the 11 pro don’t age well, but that doesn’t stop me from loving them.

Yourself and the few others that just love BS can enjoy them, but it’s completely fair to question them. They are far from perfect, and any iPhone case that cost $85 has every right to be question and criticized. Holding one, it sure doesn’t feel like $85. It sure doesn’t fit the iPhone like an Apple leather case, and the bottom is open. Lifetime warranty makes up for a few of those things, but still $85 is pretty outrageous for iPhone case. It’s not that good of quality. Andar has just as good leather quality, and for me better. They only cost $55.

Each to their own pretty much summarises it, I agree with you. Apple leather cases used to be open bottom too though and I prefer that over fully closed. The old Apple leather cases aged so nicely and also quite slowly, as high quality leather is “supposed” to patina. Some of these other cases turn multiple shades darker in a matter of weeks and it is completely even “patina” too. That’s not how real patina even works, it’s never even. It all feels fishy to me.

I agree with you. The open bottom Apple leather cases were peak! I like that there are options, and I like people can choose what they like, but people coming and crapping on Apple, but then talking about the Bullstrap likes it’s the perfect case. A bit frustrating as I have held it in my hand, and the leather quality didn’t seem to fit the cost. $85 is a lot for a phone case.

If you live in the US, you should never pay $85 for it. You can easily find a 15-20% off promo code or you can setup an account and do the few items to get a $20 off reward. On top of either of those, request a cosmetic replacement and sell one of them and you have a case for next to nothing. It’s funny in this thread people always quoting the full cost, but if you do what’s above you never pay anywhere near that. Out of the US I know their shipping cost sucks.

How do you guys read this one? Is it faux leather? Looks truly identical to the old saddle brown Apple case

I’m currently using a decoded case. Feels really nice. Only issue is taking the phone in and out the case is a bit hard especially trying not to damage the case

You may be able to get discounts, but the retail price they are asking for the case is $85. That means they think it’s $85 worth of case. Some may disagree, but I do not believe the quality justifies that price.

I purchased Vaja leather iPhone cases for my last 2 model iPhones and these are built and ooze quality leather craftmanship. Its a heavy leather material thats very durable. They are based and produced in Argentina.
