I have two nomad cases and they aren’t what you would expect. It’s a tpu style case with a leather patch glued onto the back of the case and tucked into the corners. It is still an nice case and seems to develop character the quickest out of all the leather cases I’ve tried. Their customer service is top notch. My first nomad case seemed a bit loose around the corners so I sent nomad an email asking if this was normal. Without a response I received a shipment confirmation email with a replacement case on the way. That was awesome and all I did was ask if the case being a bit loose was normal. The second case I have I did use for a bit and the corners started to peel away from the back of the phone. I can’t compare it to the Apple leather case since I don’t have one. I think you would enjoy either one.

Like @nrvous1 mentioned, the case is not fully leather, but with that being said, it definitely still feels very luxurious. I think it has to do with the presentation (like, the box that it comes in), the fact that it's Horween leather, and the inner lining of the case is really, really nice (better than the interior of the Apple Leather Case). Plus, the leather smells amazing (I even bought two so I can keep one inside the box and trap in the smell while using the other). When you take the case out of the box, you'll immediately be overwhelmed with the smell (in a good way). My main gripe with the case was the buttons were flush with the sides of the case, so I had a hard time finding them (they're really responsive, though). Also, the case makes the phone significantly wider and taller.
I've had both. INITIALLY I liked the Nomad first because it does patina earlier. However for the long run, I keep going back to Apple for the longevity of the cases. I couldn't get a Nomad case to last more than 4 months.
I’m kind of stuck making a decision here. Yesterday my Bullstrap Sienna case was delivered. I was immediately going to swap it out in place of my Crimson case, but seeing is how my Crimson case is developing patina already I am hesitant to make the switch. I like the lighter brown of the Sienna, but I’ve already invested time and energy by handling my phone quite a bit more to help speed up the aging process on the Crimson. I feel like I’d have to invest more time into the Sienna case. Should I swap cases or keep the Crimson case on?
I'm loving the "healing" quality of these leather cases. I dropped my phone and got a pretty big gash in the corner with the leather peeled up. A little glue and dab of leather conditioner later, the edges have smoothed down neatly and it's hardly noticeable now. There's just a little scar left.
Well, I made the switch to the Sienna case. I noticed that this case is very different from my original Sienna and Crimson cases. This edition seems to be the leather without the wax coating and it feels much softer. After being in contact with Bullstrap through Instagram I have a feeling that they may have left this case unprotected or without a wax coating. As seen in this picture you can see it’s almost the same shade as the official Apple leather case. Compared to the wax coated Sienna. First attached pic is my first Sienna and the second is the one I received yesterday.

I started with the black apple leather case then after wasting some money on several non-apple ‘plastic’ cases I ended up with the apple saddle brown. The patina was developing but I was slightly disappointed by how quickly it darkened. I also found the leather seemed to scratch much more easily than the black case and the case also creaked as the fit wasn’t perfect on the sides. At the weekend I put the black leather back on and for me it is so much nicer. The leather feels softer and is much more grippy and it fits like a glove feeling like part of the phone with no creaking. I bought my saddle brown from amazon uk so maybe it was a fake, or it is just the natural variations in leather but for me the black is significantly better than the saddle brown I had.
Five days in and my Bullstrap Sienna case is darkening nicely. First pic is from 09/01 and the second pic is from today 09/06. I can’t help but also post pics of my Bullstrap Terra card holder that came in the mail today. I love their stuff.

Bull Strap makes some quality items. If I wasn't in love with my Fjallraven wallet I would pick up a Terra card holder as well, they look super nice.
I’ve had my saddle brown case on my iPhone XS Max since release day. I get compliments all the time on it. Was just at the Apple store and had a chance to compare it to a new one and the difference is HUGE!
Don’t think I’ll be upgrading this year since my XS Max is still more than sufficient, so here’s to another year of beautiful patina!

Looks great! I feel the same regarding my xs max. I absolutely love this phone and I’m going to wait for the 12. And if iOS 13 lives up to the YouTube hype, I’ll love it even more.
One year with the black leather case for my iPhone Xs Max. Nice patina, feels great in the hand however after a drop the top left of the front of the case is bent and looks sort of funky. I am going with a more protective case this year for my Pro max however I have enjoyed this leather case for what it's worth.

I ordered one with the 11 Pro. Think it looks nice to start. But I think it may start to look dirty over time because the base colour is so bright. Happy to be wrong here.
That's my worry too. If it fades to a lighter shade then great, even slightly darker is OK. But I am guessing what will happen is it will appear as though the yellow is coming off a black leather underneath. Has Apple never released a yellow case before?
Yes. They released a “sunflower” colored one about two years ago for the 7 Plus. I had it. It aged pretty good in my opinion.
