It certainly seems that way, Andar probably produce the cases for Bare and limit the colour range to keep their product line more appealing.
Sure seems like they are the same from the ones I’ve had, but…
When I told Andar about the sharp buttons they said if I didn’t like them just return it. That response was fine for me.
With Bare they said they were working on it and to give them a few weeks to figure out the buttons.
They just sent me an email with a tracking number for the new case with the hopefully better buttons. We’ll see when it gets here (CA) from Singapore. Either way I do like the case a lot.

The case is definitely very nice and the smell is incredibleeee! 😍
The only doubt I have is: the Andar seal on the cardboard box was already broken.
Is this normal?
The case looks perfect but it would be a bit annoying if I received a return.
I watched some YouTube unboxing videos and it was broken even there but of course it's impossible to know if it was like that from the beginning or not.
Can other Andar customers report on this?

I don’t think so. I don’t want to pull the crack open until I get the new one but it seems like it’s just the leather that split.
damn. u didn't even get one day lmao. guess that lifetime warranty is coming into play sooner than expected
I purchased three Andar Aspens and out of the three two of them had the seal broken. I assumed it was opened to double check if the right color case was in the box.

Yeah maybe it's like you said.
Not ideal imho (imagine a present situation, etc.) but it is what it is.
Yeah it concerned me there for a minute too but the case was fine.

I would say the bare is more similar to the Keyway than the andar. The Andar was heavier and had a more pronounced lip. The leather smelled better on the Andar but was drier than the bare. I didn’t keep the Andar long enough to compare broken in leather but out of the box I preferred the feel of the bare.
That’s good to hear someone’s replacement has shipped. I still haven’t gotten a shipping notification and their customer service didn’t respond to my last message.
I was just going by the button design and colour options, I’m just glad there’s so many options now on the market
