Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Just got my Bare case and yeah, their QC isn't great. I got the sharp as **** buttons and my action button cutout is significantly off center. For those that have the Bare case, has that been your experience? How long did it take to get a replacement? I also remember reading a few pages back that they were updating their cases to have less sharp buttons. Is that still true?

I got two bare cases, both have sharp buttons. My revised replacement has been pending shipment for a few weeks. Took like 5 weeks to get my first one so my guess is i’ll get the revised model by February. You would think they tried to perfect the case before rolling it out so late into the iPhone 15 release. Very disappointed with bare.

Nightmare! This happened to my Apple Leather Case and ever since then, I've gone with Nomad with the TPU bumpers, I've dropped it a couple of times since with no visible damage

Definitely the most destructive drop I’ve had on a leather case. All’s well that ends well though as my replacement is out for delivery three days early.

So I was getting into my truck just now and my phone slipped out of my pocket, bounced off my side runner and landed face down. It was not a pretty sight. Luckily my replacement Bullstrap was waiting in the mailbox when I got home.

This brings me to some speculation. Are they sending out early batches with known defects and banking on most people not caring enough? My first case had a wonky power button (I’ve read other reports of this around here) and the borders around the screen weren’t quite even.

This new one is flawless. All great buttons, no creaks around the sides and everything looks super even. There’s more of a pronounced camera surround than the last one too.

Needless to say I’m happy. Just hope this one fares better than its predecessor.

Any damage to the phone?
 
Cancelled my slate bullstrap cause they kept pushing my delivery date back 🙄. Bought the turquoise aspen two days ago and it came today. No regrets, love the fully wrapped leather. Sleep button a bit mushy. 1st photo taken with an op7 pro. 2nd taken with the 15pm. Black case is grams28, which has grown on me a bit.

Questions for the leather experts here. Why does open bottom BS and RL leather feels better/thicker than closed bottom RL and Andar? Does close bottom manufacturing process makes it difficult to use the same type of leather? Also why they are not making close bottom cases with leather camera bump similar to the open bottom cases?
 
I’ve been trying to order an Andar for over a day but whatever I do it always says that there are no shipping options to any address I put (but it conveniently works if I meet the $75 free shipping threshold lol)

My revised BS is in customs on hold in New York of all places (I am in Los Angeles).

Is BS not an American company? How come it is going through customs if you are in the US? I know for me being in Canada it would have to go through customs.

Welp, showed your pic to my better half and she actually liked the color of the case. So with her blessing I ordered the slate to pair with my titanium blue 15pm :cool:

So now my collection that i said i wouldn’t add to consists of RL and BS again.

Definitely an anomaly. My leather cases typically last me through the year.

What is it, the Symmetry everybody seems to love? I think I had an Otterbox for my 4 or 4S.

It’s an American Company, but the cases are made in China.

Lol I think you're confusing 2 companies. That poster said BS but meant Bare Skin Cases, which looks like they're in Singapore. Bullstrap (the more prominent BS in this thread) is in the US and ships from Florida. 😛

My turquoise andar gets ripped open tomorrow and I can’t wait, looks great!
