I’d also expect that companies selling a case with an open CC button will want those stocks to sell before they introduce a covered button case. They’ve obviously invested a significant amount on their open CC button case(s) that they don’t want to lose.

Whatever, no covered CC button then no leather case for me. No point buying stuff that you don’t like!

Well, remember that there are very few cases with a CC button. Your options are quite limited for cases that do have the CC button.

I wouldn’t pay for a leather case either if you didn’t like it without the button. They’re just too expensive to not like.

Of course. I have now got an Apple Silicon case for my 16p which I bought from John Lewis - when they had them discounted. I usually have two, sometimes three cases and swap them over. Having an Apple Silicon plus a leather case (had a RL for my 14P) is typical for me. However, I do prefer leather over silicon as a case material!

Wiiuka MORE case, 8 months later (next to the Ryan London leather iPad sleeve).
Fantastic case.

Ryan London are stating on their full leather cases, that they are NOT replacing it with a button version according to their website.

Interesting. Just went and saw that note myself. Someone here posted RL replies via email that they were.

So has any decent leather company said they will be?

It states they won’t replace the cutout version with the “upcoming” camera button version.

I believe someone said bullstrap will replace your cutout version with the camera control version for free when it comes out. RL is stating that they will not. Basically you need to pay for it no matter what when it comes out. That’s at least how I read it.

Reading matters! My bad. I misread that. Yeah I’ll buy another RL case with the button version. I hate to because my current RL has a really nice leather grain to it.

Yes, the delays from Bullstrap have been quite significant. However, this is not unusual for their launches. I am impressed that they managed to release the open-bottom version so quickly. Last year, they faced Quality Control issues with the contemporary cases, so maybe they are trying to address these problems early on.

Everyone claiming that they are waiting for the CC button on the RL and BS is being overly optimistic at this point. I wouldn’t expect anyone to release a button version at this time. Only a few companies would be willing to invest in adding a button to the case.
They specifically told me they had plans to do it. Wasn’t till next year but when I found out about the month delay it had my wheels turning a bit.. too optimistic on that for sure but the thought crossed my mind

At least I know Bullstrap is worth the wait 😂

Yeah that was me who said that. I asked both companies since my husband got Ryan London and my son and I plan on using Bullstrap. I didn’t like how Ryan London answered but they’re a small business so i guess its understandable- it is their call at their discretion after all. I just don’t think I’d release a case just to have to go redo it- or I’d help out the customers who bought the first version that wasn’t 100% up to spec with the features of the new phone. Of course people are going to want the best version of the case.. kinda like what happened with the action button last year. I’d at least offer a discount to customers who bought the first iteration of the case that wasn’t fully “prepared “ when the phone came out. Meet somewhere in the middle…

Agreed. I don’t think anyone should have to pay another full pop for the updated version of a case that should have been ready to begin with. The cutout isn’t bad .. it’s manageable at best. But again like the action button of last year it just didn’t feel “right” and felt sloppy/incomplete. I don’t know if it was Apple’s fault for not informing case companies well in advance so that they accommodate the features of the new phone. Might be Apple greed, wanting people to buy their cases over third-party. But a lot of these case companies are having to go back and redo a lot of their stuff for this phone.

100% this! 🙌🏻 that’s why I decided to just wait for Bullstrap. I’d be wasting a ton of money and a ton of time trying to find something to hold me over till Bullstrap shipped. May as well wait. End result will still be the same. Just wish apple released better colors on the silicone - it would have been a more pleasant wait.

Replacing cases sounds like a logistic nightmare. But if BS does that I guess it’s up to them. Mind, some people might prefer a cutout and/or aren’t bothered by a covered CC button anyway.

And I would have thought that some manufacturers will sell a cutout along side a covered button case rather than all out replacement. Spigen and OtterBox are doing that now.

I actually like how the Lake Green goes with my Desert Titanium iPhone 16 Pro. It’s a refreshing change. But I’ll wait and see on how the leather cases go.

Yeah, I just worry with this news that Apple is gate keeping the CC buttons on cases, it might deter some manufacturers from bothering.

Agreed. I wouldn’t expect them to send a new one for free but a nice discount code for those that want to upgrade would be appreciated.

Oooooh, what was the question?
Nothing major. Just if they could upgrade the the fastest shipping possible 😂I *could* use a new iPad Pro case but I’d rather just get my case for my phone sooner than later. I did just get my AirTag holder in black from them and omg it made me want my case even more.. the leather is so fantastic, even if it’s just an AirTag carrier!

Has anyone actually confirmed that Bullstrap will definitely send a new one with camera cutout to you when they’re released if you already purchased a cutout one?

No one ever promised to simply send you the updated version. Brooke795 said that customers who had already purchased a case could use one of their warranty replacements to obtain a case with a button.
