Yup. It will as the leather loosens and absorbs oils. I’m not worried about it

Let us know!!

I sure will, I have no doubt he will make it right. No real loss for me because I have the amazing open bottom cases from him that have zero issues. Still a very happy customer.

It’s interesting because it seems this has become an issue with a lot of case manufacturers since the USB-C port was added. Bullstrap had the issue last year with the contemporary case, both my silicone cases from Apple have this year, my Benks case does, and now the RL. I guess there is less space between the front of the screen to the top part of the charging port? Interesting enough, the thicker RL closed bottom with the cutout for me doesn’t have the issue at all.

My goodness this is a wide spread issue it seems. Can confirm my pro max case has 0 gap or even movement near the port. Flush and tight as a drum.

I guess it’s more of a pro issue, or at least that’s what it seems. Odd though since there should be any difference other than over all size. The design would be the exact same.

This was not at all the response I was expecting to get. The gap I have can't be intentional. There is no way you would do that on purpose. Plus why would lots of the cases not have the same issue?
Pretty that’s referencing the actual charging opening. My space is already smaller. I also have been just “massaging” that area with case off and on. I think the gap exists because of such a tight fit, which is a positive. Once the leather loosens it will ease. It may never be completely gone but many cases, including Apple leather had a slight gap. Loving this case so far but can understand the frustration.

Thanks, yeah I will try and work on loosening it up so. Dont know that this case will stay on my phone. Their open bottom cases, are just so much better.

…but I will say this…I usually enjoy open bottom because I am more nervous these small pieces on bottom will crack. Haha

Whilst there are lots of cases that don't have the same issue, there are lots that do.
There is the problem, you have to improve that Quality Control. That’s why I’ve been shouting from the rooftops that RL bottom closed is not a top leather case for me. First leather is not as good as other options second fitment is poor. You have to step up if you are charging 72€ for a case.

Still don’t understand why they don’t focus on their open bottom that is actually a pretty decent case ( it’s debatable the best for me with Bullstrap and Alex goldfinch).
Because it's not as popular. Your general leather case fans would prefer a closed bottom base.

This would be perfection if they did. It would slim the case up too.
Is 16 series thicker than previous series? I was pretty happy with their thickness overall in the 15 series.

I guess so, but don’t know try to make that type of case closed. Not a completely different case as they have made, it doesn’t seem they have the same leather, neither made in the same factory for me. I still remember the day I bought their closed bottom case, due to having had their open bottom first and having one of the biggest dissapointments of my life (my leather case life I mean haha)

I absolutely agree.

The mark ups these companies make on these cases are insane and I would put a good bet on it's becuase of Bullstrap's prices.

These cases will literally cost the likes of RL, a few quid each to buy in but becuase BS and such like will charge $100, they can price them very highly and still look 'cheap'.

The issue with that, for them, if we expect perfection and rightly so.

The 16 series is for sure thicker. They had to make it thicker for the CC cutout. The new CC button closed bottom are thinner because they don't have to have the cutout. The hope is they get thinner with the CC button. That would make the RL perfect. I don't mind the cutout, but it's just kind of awkward to grip sometimes.

So Bullstrap actually got this right. Their closed bottom is identical to the open bottom just with the full coverage. RL needs to take a page out of their book. Hell just use the same supplier as BS and put our logo on it.

The “problem” is that they are having good sales with that case I guess, so no need for them to step up. But IMO Marketing and the “good fame” they have wont last forever.
