I think just how weird it is how some people are getting Leopard from IL, and I am getting mine from TN. Were I live in IL

Hey guys
Like you i'm desperate to get my hands on Leopard but getting a bit p***ed of with Apple, I ordered mine on the UTD package after shelling out £2500 on a Mac Pro. I know people who have ordered after me but they have had there shipping notices, which mine still has not. The only explanation i can think of is that its because they have paid full price. But I think they should treat all orders the same.
Has anyone else noticed this with Apple?

It might be ironic, but its not that weird. Give the massive # of Leopard copies Apple needs for launch, and how fast they need them they probably have every DVD duplication company in the US making copies. Apple just sends in the orders to the company w/ free production capacity.
No reason to feel pissed. Apple didn't have to offer an UTD at all and if you were so anxious to get 10.5 on day 1 you could have waited to buy your machine on day 1.
Apple had to make a lot of copies of 10.5 fast. Obviously the first copies are going to fill fully paid orders then they can fill the free copies.

mine was picked up yesterday at 8am and the tracking is still stuck there
apple invoice said delivery on the 25th though.
i've got a bad feeling about this.
if once received can i return it to a local applestore? (in the situation where it doesnt get here tomorrow and i decide to go pick it up in person...)
ps: im situated in the downtown toronto area

Your right i could have waited but i needed the machine urgently for work purposes I was also told by a member of Apple's customer support that I would receive leopard as an UTD package on the day it was released so why tell people lies? Would you not be a disappointed??
Woo Hoo! Mine finally shipped as of 5:00am this morning. I am in CA and for whatever reason it says it shipped from IL. Either way it says it is on time for delivery tomorrow by 12:00pm. Now I am excited.
My Leopard shipping notice e-mail just arrived in my Gmail inbox. According to the FedEx package tracking website, it should arrive on my doorstep by 10:30 AM ET tomorrow.
Shipped from Ontario, CA this morning. Shows picked up by FedEx, delivery by 10:30 AM tomorrow! I'm so bringing my MBP to work tomorrow!

Its now after 6 in the evening here in the UK and my order from amazon still says estimated dispatch 24th Oct, Sigh, its now the 25th eve and no sign of a dispatch... looks like no leopard for me tomorrow! *Sniffles*

Well...I hope you guys enjoy Leopard tomorrow...I called Purolator, and they're telling me that Leopard was shipped ground, not priority like the Apple notifcation e-mail said.....sigh!

Apple said that it should have actually been sent "expedited" and not priority, but it should still arrive on schedule. Purolator says U.S.A GROUND LINEHAUL (and one rep basically said that the Apple rep was lying when I inquired about the discrepency! ).
american people are so more laid back then british people - im british too - but jeez dude thats so lame and picky
