Simulate The Unpacking After The Install Has Started For Pictures

Well shoot one shot of the DVD before you put it in the Mac and then simulate the opening by repacking it and then take the sequence of shots unpacking while the installation is happening. Then you can load and post them after it restarts in Leopard.

We just want a virtual unpacking experience. Can no one besides vansouza and me relate to this idea of journalism?

Here in the netherlands the Leopard sale start at 06:00 pm in a local Apple store. First I called the iFactor but they told me they only get 200 copies and wouldn't reserve for me, so if I am lucky I get one. Then I called a MacHouse in Rotterdam, where I am living, and reserved one without a problem. Now I am sure I'll get my precious Leopard tomorrow :p

That's weird, are you both in CA? I'm 15 miles from Schaumburg and mine is shipping from Memphis, Tennessee. Weird!

I see I'm not the only one wondering. Wonder if the retail stores are shipping out some orders and the copies were sent directly to each store in masse.
 
I can sleep soundly tonight. My tracking number has been recycled and now shows my shipment. Tracking says that my copy of Leopard should arrive tomorrow at 10:30 AM in NYC. Latest activity says that it was Picked up in Ontario, CA.
 
My login to the order status page on store.apple.com keeps expiring, and I have to log in again to check the status. Can anyone suggest a way to do this with the fewest clicks? ;)

I wish there were Apple store account settings to let me authenticate once, and then have it refresh oh... maybe every 47 nanoseconds, and trigger the municipal "terrorist alert sirens" (I'm told we have them here) if there is any change in status. :p
 
wierd shipping locations and destinations...mine is coming from tn to IL and one was leave IL for md makes no sense. o well leaving the presigned notice in the morning or mabye working from home in the am. Cant wait.
 
1:09pm CDT - Notification has come that Leopard has shipped via Federal Express and will be delivered tomorrow. My nervousness has subsided!!:D:D
 
Anybody else excited to the point where you continually watch the guided tour and able to remember everything John says and is about to do?

Puro-tracking site...."In transit in the United States", picked up at 8:00 yesterday morning....no change.....
I wonder if Vista was this hyped...lol!

Seems as if both of our copies are in the same shipment. No updates on tracking so far, and it was picked up yesterday as well... I have a bad feeling about this as well.

My Amazon order says the same. If it doesn't change to dispatched by the end of the evening I'll cancel it get it from a store tomorrow.

Is it just me or does this make no sense? Why would CA stores ship to NY instead CA? Why would IL be shipping my copy to me here in CA? You would think they would at least use states somewhat close to each other. Seems like there would be a much easier and less time consuming way of doing this.

Not sure if your shipping company is like Fedex, but with overnight shipping, there are no updates between pickup and "arrived at sorting facility/on the truck for delivery". In contrast, ground shipping (slow) will give you regular updates if shipped from across the country.
 
Just got the word... It has shipped! :) I think I'll have to have a Leopard Shipment party tonight. I hope my wife is up for it. This is the most exciting day of my life! :) Perhaps I overstate the significance of the event. Who knows?
 
I am having it delivered to my office in DC and mine was picked up at 6:49am in Ontario, CA this morning - to be delivered by 10:30am.

I wonder if anyone has such a message from Apple but is seeing SAME DAY delivery?
