Ditto, but for Los Angeles. This should go nicely with the Hitachi Travelstar 200gig/7200rpm hard drive I'm poppin' in too! I love my iPhone credit. Good call Mr. J

Leopard is here!

UPDATE: Tuesday @ 7:46 PM
Sorry for the lack of updates earlier today...
Leopard is definitely on it's way!

Oct 23, 2007 8:22 AM
Departed FedEx location
SACRAMENTO, CA

Oct 23, 2007 4:48 PM
Arrived at Destination FedEx location
SALT LAKE CITY, UT

And you too shall receive it early...... FED EX will not hold it until the 26th, for practical reasons......

Looks like there's no signature form....
Hmmmm...

On the shipment notification page there is a place to get a signature form to fill out and sign and leave for the delivery man. Unless you fill this out you will have to sign for it in person.
And no it should not be too late considering it just shipped today.

Mine shows this:

Prepared for Shipment
Product Qty. 1
MAC OS X 10.5 RETAIL FAMILY PACK-INT
Ships by: DELIVERS ON OCTOBER 26TH

It would be nice if it showed up before Friday, but I have declared Friday as "Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Day." I am not going to work or do any studying on Friday. LOL See my new signature graphic below to get ready for it?

Macintosh Sauce, in my house, Friday is Leopard&PES08 day :)

I've been waiting for both of these for ages!

Interesting.

My school's bookstore has a tech center (UoWashington) and it is already showing them selling Leopard at $69.99!

I sent an e-mail asking if they are selling it yet. Great price though!

$69 School Stores Are Likely Not Selling Before Friday But Earlier Than 6PM

Pretty sure we have to wait until Friday. I have 3 school bookstores lined up for a Friday morning or early afternoon purchase IF they get them delivered Friday about NOON or long shot Thursday. They are all offering the $69 price. And they all agree to sell it as soon as they get it - not at 6pm. 2 close at 2PM.

Hope they take delivery on time. Otherwise it'll be next week. :(

I e-mailed Amazon UK about the probability of them shipping me a copy in time for the weekend. I left out most of their reply since it doesn't really help:

"Our latest information indicates that "Apple Mac Leopard OS X 10.5
(Mac)" has not yet been released.

While we are confident that copies will be made available, we cannot
provide more precise information about the fulfilment of the order."

My order with Apple direct hasn't changed this morning, either. And the store was down last night.

I should know more by tomorrow evening at the latest. If neither order has shipped, I'm off to an Apple retail store.

Shame about the difference in Europe, or the UK at least.

US apple site says 'Pre-Order now for free delivery on the 26th' but Apple UK says 'Ships by 26th'

We loose again... Never mind.

I have placed a pre-order with Amazon UK and I see the following when I go into "track my parcels". Yes, I know it is an estimate, but it must be based on the date they plan on shipping the parcel and the delivery method I have chosen (express). Presumably had I chosen standard delivery, I would expect to see an estimated delivery date of 26th?

Items not yet dispatched:
Delivery estimate: 25 Oct 2007 1 of: Apple Mac Leopard OS X 10.5 (Mac)
Sold by: Amazon EU S.a.r.L.

Add me to the list of UK users who have ordered from the Apple Store and whose status still shows "shipping on 26th".

Mine now says "Prepared for Shipment" - it wasn't like that earlier this morning!

Woo! :D

Seeing as mine shipped yesterday, and I got my invoice yesterday, and it's not here today, I'd imagine they're holding it till Friday. I will hope it arrives tomorrow, but it looks like they're following the orders on the packages ?

Bugger!

I bit the bullet and cancelled the Apple UK Store order (still dowing shipping on 26th) and left my Amazon order with express delivery which is allegedly dispatching today for delivery tomorrow!

Costing me about £18 more but not the end of the world - as long as it arrives!

That seems a bit risky, martymcr. I remain very sceptical that Amazon would be able to get us copies before Apple.

Maybe, but if Amazon mess up I'll have to go to the Apple store instead.

Was concerned that I'd be getting 2 copies if I left the 2 orders open much longer.
