Not seeing that.

Not for me. I only get a list of the available networks.

You have to Opt-Click the Airport icon.

Yeah, my bad guys. Sorry. Edited original post - you need to alt/opt +click the icon to get the desired effect.

just found out that if you do CMD, you can drag the icons around, and even remove them from the menu bar

old news :p that's been around since 10.4, if not earlier ;)

Does anyone know how to turn this off and revert to the Tiger behaviour?
No, and it's driving me nuts.

1. Try clicking Shift+minimize button ---> Slow motion minimizing. :) It's soo cool!

2. Select widget in dashboard then click cmd+R ----> Very cool widget refresh!
Old stuff, from at least 10.4. You hold down shift when performing any action with Expose etc, you'll get slow mo, too. It even works while playing quicktime ;)

Ups sorry, this one is only Leopard for sure:

Shift+click on the stack---> opens in slow motion.;)
Again, any animation can pretty much be slow-mo'd by holding shift when executing.

Can we just stop the "shift+ things" trend now?

I flip through my tabs with cmd+shift+] or cmd+shift+[

Cmd+number loads a bookmark you have in your bookmark bar where the number corresponds to the postion it is from the left. However can only go up to 9

Edit:

Also works, didn't know that but I find it uncomfortable in comparison to the one above.

Yeah, I use CMD+Shift+[ or ]

It also works in ichat, when flipping through different chats in the chat window.

And while at it, i accidently :)p), found another shortcut!!!! Shift+CMD+T shows the tab bar even when you have one tab open!!! as most of you should know, CMD+T CREATES a new tab.

thread merge?

On Leopard (I don't know about Tiger) you don't need the tab bar visible, when dragging a tab over another window, the tab bar temporarily appears :)
True, but when moving single-tab windows you'll need the tab bar (unless you have a trick for me?).

This one I recently found out. In Finder, select multiple images and option-click on the QuickLook button. It automatically creates a slideshow of the selected images.

That's neat! :)

I'm so amazed by the simplest little things. :p

Is this the same 'secure empty trash' that's in Tiger?

It is the same, but instead of having to navigate to finder in the menubar and then select this option, it is now directly available in the finder window.

sorry if this has been posted already but you can open System Profiler directly by holding option and clicking the Apple menu. it replaces "About This Mac...".

also heres a hint. you can add Time Machine to the Finder toolbar by downloading this icon and replacing it with the original Time Machine icon.

the icon remains the same in the Finder but when Time Machine is placed in the toolbar its icon matches the other toolbar buttons. you can also download a get info and delete toolbar button at the same website. this is what it looks like:

Screencapture 1.jpg

p.s. i also just noticed that the "things you didnt didnt know Leopard could do" thread has been merged with this sticky which is good. i was going to alert the mods to do this.

Mentioned ;). But thanks for reminding lol

This is supposed to be a feature that can be changed in 10.5.2
From what I have heard, the ability to change the dock style in 10.5.2 via the user interface was proven to be a fake screenshot, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Move between Spaces using your mouse!

Does anyone knows how to make Spaces to work as Exposé? I mean in Expose you can direct the mouse to any corner of the screen and it activates an specific function.
The other day I moved my cursor to the border of my secreen and my first Space desktop changed to the second Space desktop , in my opinion it looks practical because it's not necessary to use the keyborad to move from desktop to desktop, I just move my cursor to the border constantly and forced the Spaces to change, but now it doesn't work anymore and I haven't found any comment about this option of Spaces. :(

Yes you can activate hot corners with Spaces. Simply go to System Preferences, Dashboard & Spaces, and then choose a corner. :)

No, he means to be able to move your mouse to a corner, and have it switch to another space. The only option in Prefs is to have it show all spaces.

Ah.

Hmm...I don't believe there is, but if you have apps open in specific spaces, why not just click on them?

You can force quit any application from the Dock by holding down the Option key and then right clicking on the applications icon in the dock.

Also if you hold option (alt) while Right-Clicking on a document the following menu items change into other similar actions. :) Although the Show Inspector looks exactly the same as the Get Info window to me...

-Open With > Always Open With
-Get Info > Show Inspector
-Quick Look > Slideshow

Yes there is, this Application allows that:

Haven't tried it, but I'm sure it works.

Set the alert volume level from the menu bar:

If you want to set the volume of your alert sounds (file copy, empty trash, etc), you don't need to go to the System Preferences window to configure the option. Simply hold down option and then click on the Sound icon in the menu bar and set the volume level as desired.

View the version number and name of your Bluetooth connection:

Hold down option on your keyboard and click on the Bluetooth icon, and you will see "Version: 2.0.0f20" followed by the name of your computer (for example, John Smith's MacBook".

Third trick isn't Leopard specific, but applies to the instant messaging program "Adium": hold down the option key on the keyboard and click on the Adium menu bar item, and you will be presented with a list of currently online contacts.
