safari keeps on quitting to home screen.... Is it only with me?

I've had a considerable amount of "lag" on my 3G when using my phone. Slow moving keys and it occasionally take several seconds to move lists such as contacts after I open them. I haven't panicked because I assume this is just a 2.0 thing that will be fixed in an update. If that is the case, get that update out quickly!

If someone already addressed this, sorry, I didn't read all 11 pages.

This may have been mentioned but fix the sluggish firmware

Edit: My bad its mentioned above my post :D

1) Email/Text contact info. I can't believe I can't do something that seems so intuitive to want/need to do.
2) MMS. Or Apple just comes out and says "never had it never will."
3) Sync notes.

ok.....i will be honest, i did not read all six pages of this blog, so pls don't yell if this suggestion was already posted

anyway....here is my suggestion, love the 3G, but it kills my battery...somtimes i can barely go a day. it would be cool if 3G would go on and off ONLY when you are on the internet. I find it such a pain and time consuming to manually go in each time to change it. I have been told to just turn it off in general, but I bought the phone for that particular feature. I have a feeling that Apple does things like this to make $$$$. I bet the next Iphone will have that fix, and then some new annoying problem....

at the same time...it's always about the dollars....

but I do love the phone...

Not sure if it was mentioned, but the ability to delete apps on the iPhone and not have them reinstall when you sync with iTunes. The option to delete them from iTunes on sync would be even better. If I take it off my phone it's usually because it's junk.

Also, when an app updates it should go back to the page it was on, not revert to the first page, or whatever the first opening happens to be.

Edit: Adding public transit directions to the Maps application would be really helpful as well. I had to use a workaround to get into that part of the Google Maps website, and then I still had to use the Maps application to know where to go to walk to my stop.

double tapping on the ipod touch brings up a small window with ipod playback controls superimposed over any screen that you're working on. On the iphone it should bring up a similar box with a 3G on/off switch, just to make it easier to switch. I wouldn't mind constantly switching 3G on and off to save battery if it was easy to do.

out of curiosity, I am sure that Apple is aware of requests, and bugs.

My question is, when will Apple address these concerns? I was not part of the first iphone craze, but what did they do regarding bugs and request? I think this is a great idea, I just don't want to get my hopes up that apple will fix all of this asap....

u guys get what I am saying

Including screen names in the contact information, and possibly even integrating it so that clicking on it opens AIM or whatever IM application you happen to have.

This is a great idea, and one that I have been thinking that would be a great idea as well. :apple:

Now I've had my iPhone for a bit, there's a few things I'd like added.

*When editing events in the calendar, be able to change which calendar it is in. Can't believe you can only do this when adding a new event.

*Be able to delete individual messages in a text conversation

*Be able to download latest episodes in podcast that are subscribed to through iTunes

*Be able to change the number types in contacts. For example change "other" to read "appointments line" or whatever

I would love to be able to turn on/off 3g, wifi, and location services from one button on the main menu instead of digging into settings. Say....one icon on the main page named "Radio" or sumthin, that gives me a slider for all 3 transeivers so I can flip them on and off seperately faster than digging.

Mail:

  • Allow some more options, such as what to do after reading/moving a message. I'd prefer to go straight back to the inbox instead of reading the next message.
  • Allow me to mark a message as spam and have it sent to my Junk folder without ever opening the message.
  • Allow me to mark read/unread without opening a message.
  • Actually update/check mail when I tap the Update button.

Calendar:

  • Allow some defaults, such as 15 minute alert on all new entries.
  • Allow arbitrary alert times, so I could have a 75-minute reminder, if I wanted. Also allow a zero-time alert. Currently, five minutes is the minimum reminder time.
  • Reduce all the tapping and dragging necessary just to make a simple reminder. I don't like having to go to different screens for description, time, alert, etc.

General:
  • Let me choose any sound I want for any of the reminders/alerts.
  • Allow me the option to not auto-rotate the screen, so I can read Safari while lying down.
  • Allow Notes syncing with iTunes and MobileMe.
  • Toggle GPS, WiFi, 3G automatically as needed by applications that use them.
  • Only send caller ID to numbers in my address book. My WM phones had this, though it only worked if you called from the contact itself and not manually dialed their number. I'd like family and friends to see my number when I call, but not anyone else.

Most of what I want has been listed.

I would like to be able to sync my Safari bookmarks with Mozilla and be able to open links in a new tab.

Drink

I completely agree with the "open in new tab," I am constantly wanting to be able to do this, and it is the single most annoying thing for me about the phone. Number two would be landscape support for more apps, like Mail, Text, and Notes.

finally this is small, but I wish that the weather app would display the current temperature for the first city in the list on the icon, like the calendar does with the date.

ive noticed this too, the texting and scrolling through contacts and stuff.

Does any one else not like the fact that when you get a txt it just comes up? I always worried that someone will be playing with my phone and I will get a txt I dont want them to read.

I personally like it, but I can see it being a problem for some. It should be an option to turn it off.
