have not seen this mentioned but...

Smart Mail Groups are not an option to sync in iPhoto (Smart Albums are for music and photos though).

Record conversations

I'd like to be able to record conversations - especially with AT&T, to ensure quality of service.

When listening to iPod and a call is received, call volume is assigned to the iPod profile. This means you have to take the iPhone out of your pocket to adjust the volume, defeating the purpose of the headphones. I would like to see the profile switch to phone volume so little to no volume adjustment is needed on a call using headphones.

Also, there is currently no way to clear an entire line of text or a field of text, meaning I'd have to delete this whole post one character at a time if I wanted to start over.

Bugs fixed and improvements

I have a couple of bugs with the software:
1. I just had my sound stop working for a brief period. It came back again after someone called (no ringing, but then clicked to go back to sleep).
2. When I zoom in on a google maps, when I release my fingers, the screen sometimes scrolls quickly as if I had just flicked one finger. (This also happened in the store, so I know it's not just my iPhone.)
3. Sometimes the OS slows down or behaves erratically for a short time.

Software improvements:
1. I'd like all my mail to arrive in the same inbox. Going between inboxes is a tiny bit annoying and could be confusing. I'd also like to be able to choose to send only from one account.
2. Photos don't look so good when they're expanded. I'd like a setting in iTunes that lets you choose the compression for photos. If the iPhone would slow down with larger pictures, then never mind.
3. To do's in iCal should sync with the iPhone, preferably through notes. Also, remove the funky styling in notes; it looks out of place.
4. Background wireless bluetooth or wifi syncing with the Mac would be nice. Whenever iTunes was running, and the computer was not busy, it should periodically poll the iPhone over the network. When the iPhone is not busy, it should sync contact and calendar information over wifi.

missing you tube videos

Anyone notice some you tube videos do not come up in the search? Why is that? :(

Anyone notice some you tube videos do not come up in the search? Why is that? :(

Because they're not all yet converted to h.264.

A couple other things I'd like to see improved:
-ability to flip screen after keyboard has been opened.
-option to select which account to email from when clicking email hotlink oe sending photo.

custom ringtones
horizontal SMS texting
MMS( gets annoying when my friends send me photos and i have to tell them to email them to me :( )
Flash
More YouTube Videos
the ability to see .gif files

Things i'd like added:

1) There should be an option to "ignore call with text" on the incoming call screen like treos do.

2) Ability to send contacts over bluetooth, would work well with my in-car navigation so i could upload my phonebook to it, or send contacts to other people.

3) No vibration when on call: When on a call and a message arrives, vibration should be turned off and there should only be the incoming message chime. Its kinda annoying when your on a call with the phone to your ear and it vibrates. My old phone only did this when the battery was about to die.

4) The "pause" dialing function isnt fast enough for the automated systems to pick up. When inserting a contact phone number, theres a pause button you can insert followed by additional numbers for use with automated systems such as calling cards. When this function is utilized, the phone does not input the numbers quick enough for the computer on the other end to register.

5) Ability to hide SMS preview WITHOUT enabling the passcode lock.

6) When a missed call is returned, the red number should dissapear or turn black and signify that the call has been returned.

7) A back, or done button in the text message keyboard. Once the keyboard is initiated, there is no way to hide it WITHOUT sending a text, or by going back to the message screen and getting back to the text history screen.

Thats what i have after two weeks of use that hasnt been mentioned so far.

my simple wish-i want it all!

for as elegant as it is, this phone has many shortcomings. I understand this is only rev. 1.0 of the software, but that's still no excuse for missing so many standard things that other smart phones have had for years.

That said, in addition to adding just about everthing listed on this forum as features i'd like to have added (LOL), i'd like to have the ability to lock out certain areas of my iphone. For example, i may want to loan someone my phone to listen to music, but i may not want them to have access to my contact list or have the ability to read my email, etc. The lack of security on this thing is very frustrating. :(

The iPhone is cool, but its hype is worse than its bite.

The photos can be dragged and dropped on a PC. It's as simple as browsing the contents (photos) of the phone from My Computer.

To add to the thread, I would like Apple to make the existing adjustable options... more adjustable. For instance, I want to be able to set periodic email fetching to the minute, and not be limited to Apple-specified intervals. The same for the alarms for calendar events -- the slot machine number chooser should be available in both situations.

2 new things

Two new things I haven't seen but really want:
A) Ability to turn off the accelerometer and stay in vertical mode: I like to lie down on my bed and use safari vertically but this forces me to turn it over.
B) Ability to flip the iPod so that the headphone plug is on the right when viewing, rather than the left. Watching on the bed also forces my headphones to bend.

I'd LOVE the abilty to do these.

Ability to delete individual numbers from Recent history

1. AT&T signal is non-existent in my home. It would be nice if the wi-fi activated a Skype-like call. This type of system is already available for T-mobile costumers.

2. Apple ads like to say that the iPhone web browser is not a "watered down version of the internet". But lets be realistic, without flash it is.

3. A widget to use iPhone as a remote for Airport Express. That way you can scroll through your desktop music library. This would make up for the 8gb short-comings.

4. This one is dumb-founding when the frigging head phones are plugged in they should be utilized to boost cell signal.

5. There needs to be a Palm like memo feature to create lists that can be alphabetized etc. The yellow legal pad set up is cute, but it is not functional.

6. Why isn't 802.11n on this thing??? Need I say more?

BTW I typed this entire post on an my iPhone. So in your face virtual keyboard naysayers!

1. Send a SMS message to multiple people at once.
2. Send and receive MMS messages (pictures) to and from other phones (without having to email to service providers special mms email).
3. Speaker phone and voice dial through my car stereo when it's in my car adapter that's hardwired into my stereo (so I don't kill anyone while talking and driving).
4. iChat w/ video when in wifi locations to make iPhone a truly revolutionary device (imagine mobile video conferencing w/out a laptop).

I have a lot of other ideas, but I want to patent them first (if they aren't already).

Better email program. The current email app is sad.

Also to those who want MMS why?

It is a legacy app for old phones. I don't think we will ever see it on the iPHONE.

Is there a better way to send pictures back and forth between cell phones?

YES! I second this. A long time ago I had a program called Salling Clicker on an old Nokia phone, and it would connect to my computer via bluetooth and I could use it as a remote for iTunes. With WiFi, all the iPhone needs to be able to do is detect iTunes sharing on a local network. I absolutely want this, especially now that my computer is far away from my stereo speakers, and it's a pain if I want to skip a song.

Best IM client for iPhone: FlickIM

Giving iPhone users access to their AIM contact list, the first thing of note is the slick interface. Unlike some apps out there they’ve really given thought to the general theme of Apple’s UI and have kept it pretty consistent. There are some useful integrations, too; multi-chat is supported and conversations easily switched between using different orange bubbles, while YouTube videos are embeddable in the conversation window itself using a simple /youtube tag.

Probably Biggest Apple iPhone community

We need the ability to NOT download email attachments. I travel in Europe and with AT&Ts outrageous rates the email attachmenst are killing me. I want only to recieve the text in the email and then download my attachments later on my computer. My Blackberry could do this, why not an iPhone?
