Sigh. It'd be just my luck that I get one of the LG panels. Ugh.
LOL, it's going to be like the QC vs Intel Modem Gate. I'm going to sit back with my 8+ and LOL.

Exactly.... hahahahahaYeah they just make the best OLED tvs in the world! What do they know right! AHHAHHAHA /s
Maybe they do but their LG v30 screen sure sucksExactly.... hahahahaha

My hope exactly. I think OLED will soon go the way of plasma. I’m all for perfect black levels but there are too many drawbacks. MicroLED, if they can scale it, would have all the benefits and non of the drawbacks. Until then I’m fine with LED.I actually don’t have that much of a problem with current LED offerings. I know the spec differences but my 8’s LED screen is lovely. Are people really interested in off-axis viewing in an iPhone? (Cue the flames.) What really has me interested is microLED. Hopefully that will be coming, and Apple is stopgapping with OLED until microLED is ready for prime time.
From my understanding...You do realize... LG owns in the OLED department and their TVs are perfect example. ::facepalm::
No notch please. Really ruins the iphone X design.
You haven't even seen the new iPhone yet and you're already making a decision about it? After all the bad press the Pixel 2 XL got, I can almost guarantee you Apple's implementation will be far better.
Let's be honest.
Are apple going to use some of panels because.
1. Samsung can't supply enough screens
2. Of are better quality, and apple is all about quality.
3 lg are cheaper and apple are using this to try to make Samsung think if they don't lower their price apple will use lg totally.
So, when Samsung releases a phone in 2018, it will have a '2018 screen'. But if Apple releases a phone in 2018 with an LG screen that by definition will be a '2014 screen'? Because LG has a 4-year exclusivity period for its screens? Or are you claiming that the Samsung screen division innovated in late 2017 (with the iPhone X screen) and will innovate again in early 2019 with the S10 screen, whereas LG won't have improved their screens (even those shipping in phones this autumn) since 2014?Also, the rumours are that Samsung will have an even better, brighter screen for the S10 meaning greater leaps forward while the 2018 X+ will be using inferior 2014 LG panels - no thanks, which is a shame.
While the Pixel 2 XL's LG OLED screens were generally panned, as others have suggested, the OLED panels Apple will be getting will be held to a much higher standard.
Not saying my wifes v30 screen isn't nice, it is, but even she admits next to my s9+ screen it looks shabby. The display on the LG V30 is actually damn good. With a little tuning from Apple, it will be great.
The only thing the current crop of iPhones has convinced me of is that I no longer need to buy an iPhone. When my trusty old 6 Plus eventually dies, I'll either look at the SE (in whatever form it's in at the time) or switch to something else.
Sure, there won't be any differences. Just like the retina panels used on the MacBook Pros.
Well Apple shouldn't have done business if they got screwed, Apple let it happen because they needed to rush the X to the marketNothing that LG won't be able to achieve! Plus Samsung overcharged for Oled last year just to screw Apple.
they don't deserve to be part of the iPhone supply chain.
One nuke or war in Korea and Apple is out of business. They need to have multiple countries.
