UK here, ordered 2 of them!
Delivery date set: 2-4 weeks, between 10 - 23 Jan.

(all in store pickups for London were: from 24 Jan — hence me getting delivered!)

Hope that helps.

Is anyone (UK or international) getting better/different dates than this for delivery/store pick-up??
When the orders went live the shipping was 3-5 business days for arrival between December 28 and 30 in the UK. :)

Bugger! Seems I'm on the second staggered wave then. :-|
[doublepost=1482252874][/doublepost]...at least I got the Airpods yesterday, though the tap-tap functionality is crap and doesn't work most of the time, and the lack of volume control is REALLY annoying as well, as doing it via speaking is rubbish on them too. May have to return them, to be honest.

You're in London - Regent Street and Covent Garden will without a shadow of a doubt get some on the day the first units start arriving. Happened with the 4K. So when MacRumors posts their "Apple begins shipping LG 5K to customers..." thing, see when people's estimated delivery times are and check the store that morning.

So you mean try for in store pick-up from Wed 28 Dec then?

Yes and no. There will probably be a lag on the in-store pickup so don't assume that just because it says no stock on there that they definitely don't have any.

And it probably won't be the 28th. Apple's dates are always conservative. I personally think some will arrive before Christmas - maybe only in the US though. Hence I said wait for the MacRumors article (or stalk threads like these) because they will show the actual arrival times once they start shipping. Generally speaking in situations like this Apple Stores start to get stock the same day the first orders start arriving. Same thing happened with the MacBook Pro; same thing happened with the 4K: Pros hit Europe on the 22nd and London stores had them that day; 4K hit Europe on the 17th and London stores got some that day.

Good luck! It should be pretty easy since they're niche and most people won't be as eager as you.

Are you sure UK peeps had a date earlier than 10-23 Jan for delivery? (the US peeps yes, but the UK peeps no, AFAI have read...?)
Reason being, all the in-store availability's for the whole UK (from London to Manchester, Birmingham to Edinburgh — I tried postcodes across the country) show as "Available: 23 Jan".

But yes, will keep a look-out for any UK "I got mine!"...if they appear. ;-|

I've already told you it was definitely 28-30th December for the first batch in the UK. I know because I was about to pull the trigger until it was announced the discount was extended.

Yes, must have been, as another UK user is on for collection from Westfield White City on Fri 30 Dec too, see: #47

Double buggering-bugger-bollocks!
...never mind, I can live with a week or so later, given UK peeps now ordering are on for 4-6 weeks 6 Feb wait, now.

Yup - mine is being delivered 28 to 30 Dec :D

Hopefully will come the same day as me MBP :p

sent an email to my business rep at the local Apple Store to hold me one when they come in .. ill see what he says

Also, where it used to say special pricing for December, it now says for a limited time. The asterisk goes to a footer that says "* Subject to availability; quantity limits apply. Pricing effective 27 October 2016 – 31 March 2017.", at least in the UK website.

Mac Rumors confirms this:
https://www.macrumors.com/2016/12/20/lg-ultrafine-5k-display-now-on-sale/

"Apple Now Selling LG's UltraFine 5K Display, Extends $974 Sale Price Until March 31"

Finally shipping. And even more awesome for me is that Apple extended the Sale Price Until March 31! Woohoo!

Now I can both gather some cash and have time to read how others review the screen. Perfect! :)

I'm pissed as I have been checking this everyday every hour until tonight UK time and then it goes on sale!

And now my order is 2-4 weeks... Great! Bad luck.

I'm not in a huge rush but I wanted to return my 4K and exchange it and that will be outside the return period so I will either have to return it early or sell it on eBay.

Good price for a 5K 27" monitor, hopefully LG releases the same panel with DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 inputs in the near future.

well i just ordered 2.... so looking forward to it... 10th January to the 24th estimate for me... off skiing for New Years so not minding

I suspect Apple will not honour the discount beyond the end of December. The 5k will return to full price and people who didn't know will continue to hand their money to Apple. As usual, there'll be forum rage, but really, we only count for 0.01% of Apple sales.

That said, I would be very happy for Apple to prove me wrong.

I'm very happy to be proved wrong.

At this point, I'm sure Apple would like to just start over. Announce new MacBook Pros, reduce USB-C accessory prices permanently, maybe put a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box*, and have the LG displays at £449 and £849, therefore being able to market them as not just the best display for your MacBook Pro, but also the most affordable.

*Mainly to stop the "you can't connect your brand new iPhone to your brand new MacBook Pro" putdown.

I know the feeling. But to be honest they must have had very few for 30 Dec delivery, as evidenced by both this article AND my order...

• The MR released for sale article was written "Tuesday December 20, 2016 8:25 am PST by Joe Rossignol".
Apple Now Selling LG's UltraFine 5K Display, Extends $974 Sale Price Until March 31

Then they updated it within 8 MINUTES by adding: "Update 8:42 AM: Shipping estimates have already slipped to 2-4 weeks."

• In UK time that 8:25am MR article time is 4:25pm, my order email immediately after I ordered is timed "16:40" – just 15 MINUTES later!
With a 10-23 Jan 2017 delivery date.

So most people (certainly non-US, at least) have a longer than 30 December date, unfortunately.

I can't wait to see user home set up videos in glorious 4k with their brand new sleek, sexy MacBook pros laying next to that ridiculous block of plastic crap 5k LG monitor. lol.
