When the orders went live the shipping was 3-5 business days for arrival between December 28 and 30 in the UK.UK here, ordered 2 of them!
Delivery date set: 2-4 weeks, between 10 - 23 Jan.
(all in store pickups for London were: from 24 Jan — hence me getting delivered!)
Hope that helps.
Is anyone (UK or international) getting better/different dates than this for delivery/store pick-up??
Bugger! Seems I'm on the second staggered wave then. :-|When the orders went live the shipping was 3-5 business days for arrival between December 28 and 30 in the UK.![]()
You're in London - Regent Street and Covent Garden will without a shadow of a doubt get some on the day the first units start arriving. Happened with the 4K. So when MacRumors posts their "Apple begins shipping LG 5K to customers..." thing, see when people's estimated delivery times are and check the store that morning.Bugger! So you mean try for in store pick-up from Wed 28 Dec then? You're in London - Regent Street and Covent Garden will without a shadow of a doubt get some on the day the first units start arriving. Yes and no. There will probably be a lag on the in-store pickup so don't assume that just because it says no stock on there that they definitely don't have any.So you mean try for in store pick-up from Wed 28 Dec then?

And it probably won't be the 28th. Apple's dates are always conservative. I personally think some will arrive before Christmas - maybe only in the US though. Hence I said wait for the MacRumors article (or stalk threads like these) because they will show the actual arrival times once they start shipping. Generally speaking in situations like this Apple Stores start to get stock the same day the first orders start arriving. Same thing happened with the MacBook Pro; same thing happened with the 4K: Pros hit Europe on the 22nd and London stores had them that day; 4K hit Europe on the 17th and London stores got some that day.
Good luck! It should be pretty easy since they're niche and most people won't be as eager as you.
I've already told you it was definitely 28-30th December for the first batch in the UK. I know because I was about to pull the trigger until it was announced the discount was extended. Are you sure UK peeps had a date earlier than 10-23 Jan for delivery? (the US peeps yes, but the UK peeps no, AFAI have read...?)
Reason being, all the in-store availability's for the whole UK (from London to Manchester, Birmingham to Edinburgh — I tried postcodes across the country) show as "Available: 23 Jan".
But yes, will keep a look-out for any UK "I got mine!"...if they appear. ;-|
Yes, must have been, as another UK user is on for collection from Westfield White City on Fri 30 Dec too, see: #47I've already told you it was definitely 28-30th December for the first batch in the UK. I know because I was about to pull the trigger until it was announced the discount was extended.
Then is looks like the US has a huge allocation for quick deliveries, over the UK and elsewhere.
UK here, ordered 2 of them!

I suspect Apple will not honour the discount beyond the end of December. The 5k will return to full price and people who didn't know will continue to hand their money to Apple. As usual, there'll be forum rage, but really, we only count for 0.01% of Apple sales.
That said, I would be very happy for Apple to prove me wrong.
At this point, I'm sure Apple would like to just start over. Announce new MacBook Pros, reduce USB-C accessory prices permanently, maybe put a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box*, and have the LG displays at £449 and £849, therefore being able to market them as not just the best display for your MacBook Pro, but also the most affordable.I'm very happy to be proved wrong.
I know the feeling. But to be honest they must have had very few for 30 Dec delivery, as evidenced by both this article AND my order...I'm pissed as I have been checking this everyday every hour until tonight UK time and then it goes on sale!
And now my order is 2-4 weeks... Great! Bad luck.
I'm not in a huge rush but I wanted to return my 4K and exchange it and that will be outside the return period so I will either have to return it early or sell it on eBay.
