if there was no preorder before launch, would we literally find out because someone on the east coast walked into a store and saw them? this is too much. I want one, pronto.
At least you'll get the heads-up from us three hours ahead of time. It's going to be a madhouse in every Apple Store on the east coast if this is how they're doing things.

i disagree, i think they will do a pre order. If this wasn't the case, SJ would not have mentioned it at the iPhone news conference.

People are assuming 'shipping to customers', when it more than likely will be shipping to stores, further leading to everyone's notion that there will be no pre-order.

hmmm... in general, shipping dates refer to when stores receive stock. regardless, i would like a preorder; there is just no evidence either way.
Well, another dissapointing 4am morning and loss of sleep. Oh well, I guess it's 4am every morning for me until the end of the month. I would hate to sleep in one day and miss when the phone goes online.
And as many people have said in this thread I don't think we'll see "pre order". I think we'll just be able to order the phone with a ship date around the 30th or the 31st. At least that's what I hope will happen. It'll be hard for some people to play hooky and stand in line at a B&M store. Plus not everyone is close to an Apple store.

Glad I didn't wake up last night. I did the RSS thing and set my computer up right next to my bed.

im not waking up early again tomorrow and all weekend...Tuesday the 27th? Is that enough time to even ship by the end of the month? Hard to believe the end of the month is literally 9 days away and we have heard nothing. Makes me think this isnt happening.
