Apple, Best Buy, Walmart and Target will all be offering the iPad 2 at 5pm, and Apple.com is rumored to start selling it as earlier as 12:01am the day of and Verizon.com will begin selling it at some point during the 11th (not sure about the Verizon store).

Plenty of options, so I agree with you that lines will be minimal.
 
A first time iPad owner I could see doing this...But this iPad refresh isn't enough to make feel all warm and tingly like the original iPad/iPhone/iPhone4. I'll be camping for the first "major" iPad revision.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a sweet device, but as i have first gen pad, I won't be remorseful for not buying.

In this case? No. I did not read the article. Why would someone read an article about a guy waiting outside an Apple store. It's not even a topic worth reading. The pictures tell the story. Temporary or not, it's still an Apple store.
 
ugh, well I hope he doesn't get mugged or attacked in the middle of the night. Is he by himself?
 
anyone know if walmart is going to stick to the 5pm release or do it at midnight? from what i have been reading they will have the device and after everyone gets done poking fun at me for thinking there the closest apple store is 3hrs away. with the cost of gas im going to go to walmart and get the exact same thing either way.

so far.. all sarcastic comments and nothing really nice. Yes, I would camp out too.. just the night before. Not an entire week. All the mean comments are from people who probably wish they had off of work. =P I wish I did... and school too. I would camp out the night before if I had nothing to do!

I was planning on going to alderwood, it seems like it's a less busier store than the rest. Maybe I'm wrong. Definitely wont go to southcenter or uvillage though, it'll be way busy.

More Power to Him

I'd waiger that this guy gets a lot of advertising revenue from the internet traffic he gets on his sites. So, to those laughing at him, don't be so quick to judge.:)
 
If anybody did this kind of thing in the UK they would prob just end up with people throwing eggs at them and urinating on the tent. Does this not happen in Texas?

It reminds me of when david blaine came to do a stunt in the uk by sitting in this giant see through egg for 40 days, no-one came to cheer him on they just threw eggs and jeered at him.

Gotta love us brits ey.....
