Cue the insults pile up yet again...

Why wouldn't they....this is entirely self initiated.

Look at the little screen shots from his site in this thread, complete with 3rd person POV summary under the "About Me" section....which details his numerous times being recognized in the media....

I'd waiger that this guy gets a lot of advertising revenue from the internet traffic he gets on his sites. So, to those laughing at him, don't be so quick to judge.:)

I've never visited his site (nor would I ever) but two words AdBlock Plus.

Geez, with that much time on his hands you'd think he'd have picked an Apple store in the Eastern time zone. He's gonna be ticked at 4pm CST when all the EST people start posting theirs unboxing videos...

This guy has brought any and all wrath/scorn/belittlement/mockery upon himself.

I can see it gets so bad that we have chris crocker or whatever his name is vlogging "LEAVE IJUSTIN ALONE!!!!!!!!"

He's still sitting in a tent all week. I would wager everything I have, that the amount of advertising "revenue" he might be receiving wouldn't be enough to get me (or any other normal human) to sit in a tent for that long. I doubt the amount would be enough to cover my losses for missing a week of work.

Granted, but that doesn't explain why this camp out merits a posting on MR. Sure, it's Arn's site, but it looks like a lot of people think it really should be page 2, not the front page. I think it's irresponsible to reward this sort of camping with attention-getting blog posts. I bet that camping out for most of a week would do just as well as camping out the night before, the extra four days doesn't add anything.

I could be wrong, but I thought that last year he decided to camp out for the iPhone 4 a week in advance because he was unemployed and really had nothing better to do. I don't know if that is still the case this time around.

Unemployed and blowing money on the latest piece of luxury technology. That speaks volumes about his sense of personal responsibility. At least for iPhone 4, people didn't have to stand in line, I think I just preordered it.

The male iJustin might actually have bigger boobs

Were the girl's pictures of iJustine? I've only heard about her on MacBreak or TWiT, so I don't really recognize her.

Pfaf. If he were really hardcore, wouldn't he get on a plane and camp out somewhere on the east coast to take advantage of time zones & pick it up an hour or two earlier?

Amateur!

The guy sees himself as some kind of celebrity, he seems to be a sad attention seeker who uses Apple's popularity in the media at launch events as a springboard for his own narcissism. Obviously needs a life.

By the time the Apple Store opens on Friday morning, there will be a whole 15 people in line. 14 of which showed up an hour before. :D

Pretty much. Given that this thing is going to be in Best Buy and Wal-Mart (Sam's Club) I imagine any possible lines will be spread out over multiple stores in each city.

OMG. I thought you made up that pic set but it actually is from his site. I feel for this guy. I mean who would camp out the whole week in such a crappy tent.

I wouldn't spend much time in the tent. I'd spend twice the price of the iPad at the bar at the Chuy's down the street. My tent could hold my place in line, but even if that didn't work, after all those margaritas I wouldn't even remember why I was down there in the first place.

Guys like this are the reason why you and I get sneeringly called a Fanboy for daring to say anything positive about an Apple product in public.

I don't get this kind of behaviour. But I'm a "wait till the crowd goes away" kind of guy. They'll still be selling iPads in a month, if you didn't need one yesterday then you don't have to have it today.

I needed one yesterday :D

"Seeking to capitalize..."

There are easier and much more profitable ways to make money with a website.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the lines for iPad 2 turn out to be just as short/non-existent as they were for Verizon iPhone 4.

If anybody did this kind of thing in the UK they would prob just end up with people throwing eggs at them and urinating on the tent. Does this not happen in Texas?

Why would you ever think of doing such a childish thing? Sure, the guy's a bit of a twit, but he's doing what makes him happy and not hurting anyone in the process. More power to him.

Strange to think Texans might be more mature and considerate than Brits. Certainly goes against the stereotypes.

Gotta love us brits ey.....

No, apparently not.

No matter how much I post on MR or how nerdy I may seem when it comes to Apple products I just can't bring myself to do something like this. I mean he is not doing anything illegal and I guess it makes him happy but I don't see why this needs to be front page news on MR.

This is news?

Sorry, but this one doesn't strike me as a rumor or news. It's more an illustration of how the Internet has spawned a new class of people: Those willing to do inane actions (that was not the word I wanted to use) and expect people to watch them and applaud. It was more fun when they stood in the town square and shouted nonsense -- at least then, folks had something interesting to watch while on their lunch breaks.

If I could vote, I'd vote that this is the last time this gets coverage. It's not even space filler, it's just... sad... :(

You should see the last thread we had on this guy. A true multi-page flame fest of epic proportions. There was a hint in the summary that the guy was on disability and thus it spawned a whole discussion about taxes paying for his week in the sun outside of the Apple store.

We never got official confirmation, only vague dismissals when he got into posting in the thread himself.

Anyway, this is big advertising bucks for MR, hence why it's front page. I wager this thread will have the same epic proportions.

In fact, I seem to remember a follow-up story being done last time. That's how much Arn values these "click generating stories". It's not the content that matters, it's the eyeballs.

macrumors...may i ask why you keep giving this loser publicity? I am actually sad to know i live in a world with losers like this. Hes the kind of guy that gives us Apple users a bad name.

It reminds me of when david blaine came to do a stunt in the uk by sitting in this giant see through egg for 40 days, no-one came to cheer him on they just threw eggs and jeered at him.

Exactly. How far can piss actually climb under its own power? Just above this is how high you should pitch your tent/transparent fool egg.

America has turned into a nation full of panzies.

Throwing eggs at this "man" would bring on a federal investigation, followed by hate crimes charges, and 10 years in prison. Though I do like the way the Brits think.
