Apple isn't on there officially. But connected people are. I trust them, they've made the call and I'm waiting to get me some Lion in the next few minutes. I encourage all the doubters to go to bed so I can download faster when it does. I know I'm going nowhere until I have downloaded.

At least post the link where you saw this?

15 minutes later. Yup, just finishing up some things.

1 o'clock. It'll be up at one o'clock.

More like 2 or 3'ish. We have to add an OS section to the App Store.

Just a little while longer.

8:30 AM PST. Welp, that took longer than expected. Here you go.

You're going to be sitting there, Lionless, for a while.

I've rarely seen Apple release anything at midnight, let alone eastern time. Apple is the only entity that can confirm anything, and they have not other than the release date. Most of these releases are early daytime 6-9am eastern or mid-afternoon (3-5pm eastern). This is all guessed from experience, which is more reliable than your "sources".

Most of us however will be at work or on the way to work. As excited as I am for a new OS I refuse to skip work to download it.

I didn't realize the entire country goes to work at the same time. Geez. Let's take our little bitter party somewhere else. Some people have flexible schedules. Let people enjoy the things they will enjoy, and move on.

Grab a blanket, a pillow, and a stack of movies. You're going to be here a while.

The OS X Lion pages will be available in the App Store within the next 30 minutes or so I'm certain beyond doubt. It's just the caching that takes time to fix up. It's the same problem they have with the main store website. To avoid having people ordering different products at different times, they take it down for a few hours so they can sell the same products to everyone globally. With software it matters less so they can keep the app store up.

It actually makes sense to let the enthusiasts download it at an obscene hour late at night while normal people sleep. It spreads the load. If you launch it during the everyday EVERYONE will be trying to grab it at the sometime.

Who said that a person can't work from home?

Im not arguing that a person cant work from home or use a remote desktop. Im simply saying most people don't fit into that category and the ones that do are not likely to install a complete OS update through a remote desktop. Either because something can go wrong or because they have better things to do at work. While "some" will go to great lengths to download lion right away, most Apple customers won't.

Well...here to those of us that are the boss and can also work from home. Will give me a chance to download while I am on my typical Wednesday marathon of conference calls. :)

How would you install an OS through Remote Desktop?

I have someone I'd like you to meet. I have a feeling you two will get along.

It probably won't be available until 6pm EST (3pm PST). This has been the case for almost all OS X releases.

I love how everyone on Earth actually works the same hours and the same days. Don't you love that? It's so true.

You sure talk the talk, but you haven't been able to walk the walk.

It won't be until Midnight PST, or 6:30 AM PST. If It's Before The Midnight PST, I'll Be Surprised.
