Who said anything about Macbook Pros? They tested two Dell Latitude D630s for the Merom vs. Penryn comparison. That should hopefully translate over to the Apple line, though.

I waited until the keynote speech at MWSF. When I saw the MacBook Air, I ordered the base MBP and just received it this morning. It is great and will still fit all of my needs even if Apple updates it tomorrow.

No. Case wise they could do it in different colours (black aliminium or something) and add the new multi track pad. For me the thing is better graphics and processor specs.

Well of the good graces of Uncle Steve I'm running on a MB with a 14 day return without 10% restocking fees. So this buys me some time at home. I'm still buying a MBP on Feb 8th if no announcements have been made at that time.

I doubt it in all honesty, the current case is somewhat limiting on what pro hardware the laptop can handle (physical dimensions and heat) as it is.
We could; however, be proven wrong.

New MBP: Evolution, not revolution (this time)

Perhaps a slight decrease in thickness and weight resulting from MBA technology, but that's about it. There's a lot of stuff that goes into a MBP that makes it what it is. Aesthetically, although it still looks very nice, as Apple's top of the line, supposedly "cutting edge" laptop I would expect some cosmetic changes just to update the design and differentiate it from previous models.

The black keyboard may be all, maybe slightly tapered from back to front. Maybe black or gunmetal. Or most likely of all, something I've never even thought of.

Without question though is that part of the joy of owning a Mac is the beautiful design; you just want them even more because they look so darn cool. And that being said, if it looks just like the current model, that will be entirely ok with me.

So what am I looking (longing) for in this update? A little more power, a little more battery life, a little better graphics card, new keyboard, MT trackpad, new iSight... and I want it all NOW! Is that asking too much?

There is nothing in MBA that is "technology", if anything they took too much out just to make it so thin.

I don't think Apple could have a magnetic latch due to the aluminum warping at times. Does the Mac Air have a magnetic latch?
