What's your situation in relation to a MacBook Pro?

I guess I should ask to be added to the list....So yeah, I'm now waiting for an update of any kind.

lol Seriously you guys can't be complaining about weight. I can understand not wanting to mess up your back and all, but even the heaviest Mac notebook isn't much. I remember carrying ass-loads of books in H.S. Sure, it sucked, but my back is fine (*knock on wood*)

If you really think carrying a MBP is heavy then I suggest you take a man pill every morning from now on and start watching "Commando" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Ok this is to everyone, I would not be carrying it back and forth to school so weight is not a factor, when I posted I did not mean to start a huge fight over anything.

Sorry for any issues I have caused,
Samantha:apple:

Just out of curiosity, is there a limit as to how many posts can be made in a thread? We have 1051 posts already...

So, february 12th, 10 more days. What do you think, is it for real this time? I sure hope so but somehow I still think february 19th or 26th sounds like a safer bet. :(

Sammypurple is my new idol.

Anyway, I'm having a hard time with this naughty thought of getting a Mac Pro instead so that I can enjoy demanding games (like ID's upcoming Rage)... And it's just freaking awsome with eight cores  ...
I need people to stop me from buying that machine... The more sensible part of me knows that I need a portable mac but when the itching starts it's hard not to scratch... :p
Is it even possible at all to run games like Crysis on the MBP (not maxed out but with decent graphics)?
I really hope the MacBook Pro will be released soon so I don't do anything stupid :p

Gotta.... hold.... out....
:)

if you want games then you shouldn't be buying a mac plain and simple

apple doesn't care about gamers

Quick Question: Why Am I Your Idol? But Anyway Thanks:)

ID does however care about mac gamers. They will release Rage for OS X.
And for the rest of the games I can just use windows on the mac.
If I bought a PC I'd be missing out on OSX (which is my main argument for buying a mac).

edit:
As the mac platform grows larger (in numbers of users), more games will be avalible under OS X. That's what I think..
And oh, Spore will also be availible on mac apparently :D

I went to the Apple store this morning in an attempt to ease my agony. I even made myself a screwdriver. I can wait any longer. The MBA is nice but just not for me. I think I need help and only you :apple: can give me what I need. For the love of God man!

From what I've heard, playing games on a virtuallized Windows (i.e. Boot Camp/Parallels) is hard work riddled with flaws. Then again, I've never tried, so can anyone clear this up?

Running Windows after you've partitioned the hard drive with Boot Camp isn't virtualizing. That's running windows natively on the mac, just like it was just another PC.
So that works perfectly fine with games etc.

Running windows in parallels is another thing, and is as you say virtualization.
That's not so recommended for games. My knowledge about the latest parallels version (or VMware) is a little outdated, but I think you can run some games now (as they have made it possible to use direct X).

Anyway, sorry I OT:ed (verbified) the thread by bringing up games.
