count on me to...

I ll be in NYC in 1 month...

I was ready to take e Macbook Pro used 2.33Ghz from UK at 1500Euros(prices in Europe are ridiculus...)
very first day i took my mac book pro 2.4(2 months ago) my sister has taken it...

now just waiting for the new ones....

will be my first mac ever and first laptop...

converted to Apple by my 2 iPods and my iPhone (unlocked)

Just thinking again, do you think the new MacBook Pros will be capable of the new FireWire S3200

What about Montevina?? What benefit will that bring?

montevina will have DDR3, 1066fsb and a significantly smaller footprint. With the exception of the fsb these are size and power efficiency enhancements. Not without merit, but there is no performance increase to be had from DDR3 for normal tasks. The fsb will have a nominal effect on performance, but more is better.

SSE4 and a larger L2 cache however is where your performance increase will come from. Nehalem however is a revolution in architecture, originally meant to incorporate some of AMD's features, notably an onboard memory controller. Some reports however are saying that it doesn't make a big difference. Remains to be seen. :p

Its worth waiting for the new release even if only a small increase in speed. I'm guessing the current midline 15" specs will aproximately be the next lower end specs so you'll save like $400-500 just to wait. :eek:Its worth it.

Not A Show Stopper

hey, I'd hate to shoot down you hopes of a new MacBook Pro even further, but i just read this. The last line is what will disappoint.

http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/07/intel-sued-for-core-2-duo-patent-infringement-by-the-universi/

Intel has a large stable of attorneys and they will hold this issue at bay until it is resolved. Qualcomm is in constant legal battles over patented technology and, although it depresses their stock price, it does not hinder their production.

Well I am back in the waiting line. After 1st ordering a XPS I cancelled it cause evry1 here got bad displays with it. Well whatever I go Apple this time, more money but I will switch and try OS-X. Now when oh when will the new MB pro come out :D

Ya, I wouldn't count on this Tuesday for an update. The most probable date set for the MBP's is on the 26th (during the unannounced Apple event).

I just got told by apple here in london that if i purchase a mbp i will have 14 days to refund it, BUT, 28 days to exchange it. i didn't know about the 28 day exchange thing, anyone else been told this. that means i can purchase next week and hope that the new mbp will arrive before march 17.

I got a 2.2 Santa Rosa 2 weeks ago, but Apple are collecting it for a refund on Monday, as it has some minor issues (wonky keys, lid, etc.).

So, bring on the Penryn - they'd best release it soon!! :D

Remember that no matter how credible rumor sites are, they are usually not 100% on the mark.

Well obviously. Considering the fact that macrumors said it was going to be the previous two Tuesdays. I just meant to ask what makes you so sure that it's not this Tuesday?

I personally can't see the "Apple Event" releasing new MBPs. I think it'll be a mainly iPhone SDK event, with the MBPs coming before, or after...

One would assume since you're posting on this thread that you are also waiting for the next MBP update. I agree with being realistic, maybe it won't be next Tuesday, who knows when it will be? However, do you have a reliable source to back up your claim?

I'm actually not waiting for a MBP.

Did they tell you that in Regent Street? And will it all be written on the reciept? If that's the case I will buy an MBP no matter what on Tuesday afternoon, I'm almost positive there will be the new MBP within 28 days...
