You guys are silly, waiting for upgrades that are a marginal improvement over the current MBP. I remembering reading threads about this back in Nov. '07 when I was contemplating getting my first mac and replacing my busted dell inspiron. And its funny, people keeping waiting and waiting...there's always something new when you wait in the electronics world. They keep speculating that at this event and that event there will be an announcement and there hasn't been one since Nov.

I'm trilled with my MBP and I've enjoyed it for the ~3 months you guys have been waiting ;)

I rreeeeaaaaptttt! Alll you happy with your Mac and all you guys are silly for waiting blah blah blah people need to stop perusing our waiting forums...your killing the whine! We like waiting! We like being tortured, unhappy and morose. You don't see me stalking your "I sure am glad I bought my Mac way back when" forums. I believe you are secretly suffering from the proverbial sour grapes (I'm glad I didn't wait for the new MBP's) snydrom. Thats right you secretly want to be waiting for the new MBP's with the rest of us but you can't because you already bought yours so instead of admitting that you will covet the new MBP's whenever the hell they finally arrive, you come back time and time again to our forums, to taunt us with your external happiness whilst you are tortured on the inside. Hope you enjoy the taste of your sour grapes. Now as I've said once before ( insert creepy poltergeist voice) GEEEEHHHHTTTT OOOOOUUUUUUTTT!!!

I need a new battery for my 12 inch!!! =( Aside from buying directly from Apple, is there anywhere else that sells the original battery for cheaper? They are freakin' expensive!!!

Sony has an estimated ship date for vaio laptops with Penryn processsor on 2/19/08.....

Let's hope that the new MBP will be announced next tuesday too with of course Penryn and other upgrades !!! :rolleyes:

I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in next tuesday. Of all the dates that have been thrown around that is one that I havent heard a lot about. I would put my money on the 26th at this point. Hope by next tuesday that an invite has gone out for an event on the 26th!

If there is going to be an event, they'll have to have the invites out by Monday or Tuesday of next week. I can't find any cases where they sent out invites with less than 7 days notice.
 
My new Macbook Pro just shipped today. Can't wait to get it now.
To be honest, yes I would have liked the new updated MBP but it doesn't bother me too much. If they bring out a new model in the next few weeks I won't be too pished off.
I like the current design, and it will be powerful for my photography needs. To those waiting. I gotta hand it to ya. Fair play for waiting it out. ;)

Good. I'm sure you feel better for having told us you won't be too upset if the new MBPs come out in the next few weeks. Don't you? Don't you? Don't you? :D

I was trying to come up with some clever analogy, but gosh darn -- I couldn't!
 
I just read at a german mac site that most likely the WWDC will be 06/08/08 - 06/13/08. So I believe that if we don't see an MBP upgrade by the end of February till the beginning of March the upgrade will come at WWDC and as a result Apple would skip Penryn to use the new Intel plattform.

Although I hope a Penryn MBP will show up on the rumored 26th event. A Release in the End of February - beginning of March time frame would perfectly match the 9 month release cycle.

Agreed, I did some quick searches yesterday and confirmed that. We should know soon weather or not there is any credibility to the 26th event rumors!

There are a lot on eBay, but be prepared to pay more if you want one from outside of asia, it's hard to know whether they're official or not.
Amazon have them too but when I looked they were more than on the Apple site.
 
BestBuy.... Backordered

Just on a clue I checked on line BestBuy and most of the Apple laptops are on backorder. There was a rumor last week about BestBuy changing some sku numbers and everyone thought that was an indication of some new MacBook Pros. The on line Apple store now has MacAir down to 7-10 day delivery, there should be no problem keeping BestBuy in inventory unless indeed the end of line on the current MacBooks are on the way out. Couple that with some colleges putting Apple stock on sale..... THAT MEANS OF COURSE TUESDAY !!!!! NEW MacBook PROS

Yeah, why is that? It all comes down to how long it takes to get units with 10.5.2 to the Apple stores.

I guess, since I don't have the money to be buying the newest computer all the time...I'll have to stick with this one (I usually buy a new device, when my old one craps out or is seriously out-dated). Because as soon as they release a new one, their will be speculation over the next one. And if you said your computer works, why bother getting another one?... do you really need the newest computer (I think if you require the newest in computer technology for the work you do (video editing, photo processing, CAD, etc...), then you would be doing it with a desktop and not a laptop).

I guess it makes you wonder why they same Americans are in serious debt, because they like spending money like it was monopoly money...buying unnecessary things, replacing perfectly good items with the newest thing, etc... /rant. :D (I'm not directing this at you specifically and if you have the money, more power to you). All I have to say is I'm truly pleased with my current MBP and any of the "new" upgrades wouldn't make a big difference in my usage.
