Judging by the poll results, and saying everyone gets a mid range mbp. (to even out those buying low and those buying high end).

Steve can expect at least $837,165 from this forum alone come the MBP release

This isnt taking into account how many of us are in the UK and will pay more for ours.

Hey guys check out the news post on the homepage! Mbps this Tuesday!!!:D

errr .. where did that post go? It was first on the page and now it's not there again, we have the 8th birthday post up instead. The thread's still there, at least now, but it's off the front page.

Arn removed it from the front page as he was not sure anymore about the quality of that rumor.

It's still up in the news forum though. Which is much better than being in page 2 rumors. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/440673/

After a number of false starts, it appears that Apple is finally going to deliver the anticipated MacBook Pro updates... and all signs are pointing to this Tuesday.

We were hesitant to pinpoint a specific date, as a number of previous rumor predictions have come and gone, but sources reveal that shipments of new Apple notebooks are planned for midweek. Historically, such information tends to reliably predicts new product releases.

Previous tidbits of information surrounding the new MacBook Pros have indicated that they will incorporate Penryn processors, an LED screen in the 17" model, and the new-and-improved multi-touch trackpad found in the MacBook Air.

Our Buyer's Guide reveals that MacBook Pros have not been updated for 264 days, well beyond their average of 186 days between refreshes.

Well, to quote arn on that MacBook Pro rumor this tuesday:
editor note: I've removed the story off the front page for now as some conflicting information has arisen. I still believe the MBP's are coming on Tuesday, but I need to reconcile some information, and have pulled the story temporarily because of it.
I am glad to see arn saying it will be tuesday! But it's good that arn is reconciling this information, so we can get a more accurate date :D
And this tuesday would be PERFECT because hopefully by the time they near shipping date will be when I can get one (I can only get my laptop at the end of this month, for various reasons)

So, uh, without wanting to be offensinve, you put this post up front for 1 hour and 20 minutes first thing Sunday morning and then took it down to check sources or conflicting information? The reliability of the forum may come into question here. I, for one, had already begun to rearrange my calendar and travel in my head...

So now we have a situation where we are WAITING for a message confirmation or withdrawal because we are on a thread that is for Apple loyalists (mostly) who are WAITING for an overdue product upgrade.

Is this whole thing just a huge doctoral dissertation study in Pavlovian psychology?

This is one reason why our world is so insane... Every experiment we do in this field is based on the responses of white rats or college sophomores ... and now, Apple Enthusiasts who are being treated like either white rats or college sophomores.

Clarification posting, please... Or PM? Or Something?

The fun's begun.

It's all o.k.

Flyer - Sorry if the strain of impatience got the best of me. Some of us are frazzled... even though we know we shouldn't be; We simply are.
Please let us know the outcome of your due diligence.
Your work IS appreciated.

I don't have any insider information, but I'm sure it wasn't the case that Arn simply decided to check his sources after an hour and twenty minutes. Something must have happened, like someone sending him a conflicting report as a result of his post, that made him want to take it down. Nothing about this calls into question the reliability of the forum, in fact the opposite it true. If he had left it up, despite information or rumors to the contrary, that would be less credible. His insistance on checking his sources in response to conflicting information is just good, credible reporting.

You cared enough to come back here and tell us, though

LOL, don't ya just love it when people tell the forums of their purchase in hopes that people will agree with their decision to buy now so they can convince themselves they did the right thing. :D

Maybe :apple: called arn and bit##ed him out for spilling the news and THATS why he pulled it from the front page. Then it would REALLY be credible!
