Apple must love people like me? Someone who gets a new Mac literally every 10 years? Yeah, they must be cheering every time someone like me is born.

I'll take Apple's side when they do right, and won't when they don't.

As a company, I don't like Apple. I do like their products. I also think Steve Jobs is a douche.

What I don't do is whine about them not changing their practices, such as their choice to go with a svelte 1" design. If they do, good for them. It restricts what they're able to do and where they're able to go with their mobile line, but Apple has never advertised the Mac as a gaming platform, especially their laptop line.

They've never in their history included high-end graphics cards, and that was before they were 1" thick. If you want a gaming laptop, buy one. Don't whine about Apple's sudden lack of gaming ability now that you're finally on the Mac bandwagon and have picked up on it. They're not going to start now.

Also, don't give me ****.

1.3" laptop, as has been painstakingly explained to you before, is a world away from 1". It's not just that it's 30% thicker.

1.1" would make a difference, but not make it possible. They already run hot as hell and they're underclocked, you must know this.

Apple also does not want a wind tunnel a-la GeForce 5600FX or MDD G4. And you do not give them the benefit of the doubt; all you ever do on these forums is bash Apple for no good reason. It got old a long time ago.

I don't, actually. I'm not happy with their apparent decision to go to the chiclet keyboard, round the corners of the MBP, or their idea of thinning it again (it's thin enough).

As for being brain dead, I think it's probably apparent that I've got more brains than you've got. For one thing, I know the difference between "it's" and "its." For another, I don't tend to harp on things that oughtn't be whined about, nor do I complain endlessly about the same exact thing that I not only have no control over, but has been shown to be ridiculous numerous times.

I believe this sentence is a bit contradictory. Wouldn't a better way to present oneself as high-minded and- ah, well-mannered- not be to insult the person you're admonishing in such a childish manner?

I'm not a fanboy.... I'm not particularly small, nor am I particularly young; at 21, I'd guess I'm older than you are, whom I would peg at 14 to 16.

I think you just killed the high horse out from under you. I also think you probably stole it in the first place.

Anyway, I just hope it has a 3670, which would be a breath of fresh air.... ATI and slight speed bump.

tldr

LOL it's funny how people can care so much for something so far away, for someone they don't even know, or, here's the kicker, for the ideas of someone they don't even know. it's almost like for any one complaining about the disgusting GPU in the MBP, 100mb is used up on his computer.

Haha... "Hey, stop it you guys! I'm almost out of space! I'm serious! #^&@% ***holes!"

The sad part is this thing actually exists.

I fixed it for you. Now it's more true to life.

Had to wipe off his drool first =o

Was just listening to the live broadcast of TWiT and Kevin Rose was on.

Claims there is going to be an Apple Event on Sept. 9th.

no mention of laptops just ipods, but who knows.

Keep that date in the back of your minds.

Thinking of putting my current MBP up for a 10 day on eBay September 1st, so I can remove it on the 9th if nothing comes out :)

There's a lot of people who are sure we'll see an event in Sept.

I doubt Kevin Rose knows much of anything any more than the rest of us. He's just making educated guesses - his guesses get a little more credibility because he's involved with some waste of bytes website, but I don't think he knows much more than any other sensible industry watcher.

You people are nuts. The new macbook pro is not going to be like a holy grail or anything. Im glad i bought mine before college. VERY glad. If you need one now, BUY ONE NOW FOR GODS SAKE before the inventory becomes too scarce.

Looks like folks have given up caring anymore. Well, there's a lot of Montevina laptops out there. If Apple doesn't come out with anything in September, I'll just grab an HP or Sager. Some nice deals in the Sunday ads.

Problem is, I need one that isn't going to have its GPU fail on it.

Let me know how that goes for you.

Far from giving up on caring, it's just that after Post #1,019 we still have no clearer understanding when the friggin' things will actually be released than we did after Post #1. Been fun to speculate and throw rocks at one another, but I for one have entered the "scorched earth" approach and am keeping all available appendages crossed for 9/9. 9/16 at the latest. After that, I'm going Amish.

If the gpu was a problem apple wouldn't still be selling them, duh. Its not like everyone under the sun that bought a MacBook Pro in the past year is going to have a gpu problem!

Everything points to 9/9. See the thread entitled:"just so everyone is on the same page"

i want the new macbook pro

I really hope the new macbook pro will come out in September. I am deciding between the Sony Vaio Z and the Macbook Pro right now. I've had my hands on the Z for a few days and so far it's an amazing laptop.. probably the best one sony has ever made.. but i still want a macbook pro.. just for the boot camp and osx. I'd love to have windows for work and mac for normal use. and as for why waiting for the new macbook pro? i think it's because the Macbook Pro's models that apple is currently selling right now does not justify the price. If i was looking for a laptop 6 months ago, i would have bought macbook pro for sure.. but right now.. for a $2400 laptop i'd love to have all the latest technologies in it.
