I only caught a couple of minutes but will watch whole thing when the video is available. But anything that has Jason Momoa is more than a-ok with me!

Also caught the last bit when they were talking about the voice we’ve been missing - optimism, inclusion, community, etc. I thought “holy x, did they get the Obamas??” Alas, no. I have nothing against Oprah but what a cool get the Obamas would have been!

Also, I’m tempted on the News+. Would like to dump the three or four news subscriptions I currently have.

I'm amazed at how many of you people are defending the credit card as the only "good" product. It was all pure garbage with the credit card on the top of the garbage list! I'll never understand why people LOVE getting into debt. If you want a measly 1-2% back join a credit union. My debit card from my credit union offers cash back just alike a credit card. But I have 0 debt unlike the rest of America currently drowning in bills.

Credit cards do not necessarily equal debt. I use my main card to pay any transaction or bill, rack up points & free stuff, and pay it down completely every month. While techncially "debt" for the span of 30 days, that's practically debit.

Name one service they excel in, benefits you and get for free without lock-in?

That's an odd bar to set. I value my privacy and don't want to watch ads. So free is pretty much out the window.

That being said, I'm very happy with iTunes Movies, Apple Music, and HomeKit. For my specific needs, they are in fact the best offering in each of those categories. I'm indifferent to iCloud (pretty tough to differentiate cloud storage) but use it due to ecosystem/lockin.

So, if I get it correctly: banks, studios, news agencies, actors, directors, producers and tech companies... they are all planning to push down our throats virtual credit cards and charge monthly subscriptions for every media a computer-based gadget can handle... apps, games, movies, magazines, news... and we'll probably end up paying more than we pay for a regular cable service with some premium channel packages (they didn't even bother to show us prices for the main entertainment services, and that's what's scary...)
That's it, I'm gonna pretend we are all still living in 1991 and live with the same tech that was available back then and save some extra money for my retirement. I'm officially -and intentionally- an old timer.

Wow, a bunch of Apple Losers plague this forum nowadays, it's pretty sad. I love the news+ app. $9.99 for access for almost every single magazine at the newsstand, that's insane. That's less than the cost of a single paperback issue and it's for my whole household.
We already have that since many years. In sweden readly does it all and more for the same price.

  • Apple is setting up a "first of its kind" gaming service that is available on "all of your devices" that only works on Apple branded products and sounds suspiciously similar to what Google announced a week or so ago, except Google's version works on any device that can run Google Chrome.

From what I understand Google’s service is a much much more ambitious and bigger scale project than Apple’s. Google wants to run it all on cloud. While Apple’s is nothing more than a game subscription service, that runs on your devices. As mobile games they probably going to be pretty good, but expect nothing like what PC/Console delivers...

So Apple+ not coming to LG 2017 TVs? It's only 2 years old such BS if true it is like iPhone X not even a year out selling and no longer support. Either way lets see how great will Apples original programs will be to even dive into another streaming service so far the original series is full of documentaries and family and sci-fi movies, will Apple do some MA or R-rated content will they even make Horror movies or TV Shows this are some questions I have because Apple always wants to keep family friendly like Disney.

You are obviously their intended target audience.

So, is it just me or is Apple killing their Apple TV 4K hardware? I think they must be, even if by accident. I have a 4K LG TV with Dolby Atmos, HDR, and other great features. If Apple is porting their TV app to it, then why in the world would I ever consider buying their hardware? Same for Samsung, Sony, and Vizio owners.

The fact that there's no pricing tells me the whole thing is still half-baked.

I can't remember ever being this deflated after and Apple event. No, I wasn't expecting cool new hardware but almost everything was really underwhelming. The  Card was honestly probably the only semi-interesting thing.
