Same here.
It's likely that I am not the target audience.

I don't think I am either. But I've got to re-access my subscriptions of all types. Holy God, I lease a car, I pay AT&T for my phone monthly, and subscribe to Hulu, Netflix, BritBox. I've got to get a life!

I get it, Apple wants overtake gaming, and media distribution. Apple wants "subscription" money that is a never-ending, renewable revenue source, from individuals and families.

Halfway through the program I took the dog for a walk. I'll probably stream it later while working in my home office. Just to see if I missed something exciting.

Definitely a warning sign. It seems like like they are doing a Google and just throwing **** on the wall to see what sticks.

Available in fall, 3-month bundled with the ”new” iPhones to get you by automatic reneweal....

I think they saw the conversion rates on the Apple Music bundles and now feel like they can achieve the same with all these services.

The TV+ seems to be ********. Apple trying to convince people that they make the best series ever, but its kinda hard to believe when ”it’s coming this fall”. It’s actually not as simple as music streaming where you need the infrastructure, legal agreements and a half decent app...

Music streaming was also not as widely adopted when AM was announced. It was still in a transitional state.

Apple is setting up a "first of its kind" gaming service that is available on "all of your devices" that only works on Apple branded products and sounds suspiciously similar to what Google announced a week or so ago, except Google's version works on any device that can run Google Chrome.

No, it's nothing remotely like what Google is doing at all. Google Stadia is streaming. This is not streaming. It's more like Steam, except with a subscription instead of buying games individually. Not anything I have any interest in (Steam is already too iffy even without subscriptions, and I buy on GOG whenever possible), but it's not similar to Google.

Subscriptions is pretty much how Telltale Games operates.
Operated. Past tense.

Serious question, how is this different from the current Apple TV app?

The current TV app lists the shows but clicking on an item launches the relevant app to view the show. Currently the show cannot be actually watched inside of the TV app, it just makes it seem that way.

The new version actually creates a single app situation. It’s a more seamless user experience. For me personally, it streamlines the experience to three separate apps that I’d browse through / use (Plex, Netflix, TV) rather than the many more apps I had to use prior (Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc)

I'm amazed at how many of you people are defending the credit card as the only "good" product. It was all pure garbage with the credit card on the top of the garbage list! I'll never understand why people LOVE getting into debt. If you want a measly 1-2% back join a credit union. My debit card from my credit union offers cash back just alike a credit card. But I have 0 debt unlike the rest of America currently drowning in bills.

I use credit cards for purchases I make every day, and I have zero debt. I'm guessing you still carry cash around? I haven't used cash in years.

I don't use Apple Pay yet, but I will set it up soon for convenience, and I'll be looking at their credit card when it's released as well. I'm attracted to the Apple card idea because all the billing data is incorporated into the iPhone app and I won't have to login to American
express, Citi, or any of the other 5 credit cards I carry around. Simplicity and convenience are the reasons I think the Apple credit card will do well.

As for the rest of the services, they need to be careful who they partner with, or they might alienate some of their customers as we've seen here with some of the comments...

I'm guessing it was Apple's intention to release everything today, but they hit roadblocks and delays with all their services. So they still held the event, but pushed out the due dates which is understandable if you look at the enormous tasks involved with what they are trying to do.

This was a warning shot to coerce ..or compel ...publishers into the platform...join, or you will get locked out. Apple will likely now start getting more cooperation from publishers, news outlets and production companies.

does anyone know of an app to keep track of all my subscriptions? I would prefer if it was subscription based and had in app purchases.

So, if I get it correctly: banks, studios, news agencies, actors, directors, producers and tech companies... they are all planning to push down our throats virtual credit cards and charge monthly subscriptions for every media a computer-based gadget can handle... apps, games, movies, magazines, news... and we'll probably end up paying more than we pay for a regular cable service with some premium channel packages (they didn't even bother to show us prices for the main entertainment services, and that's what's scary...)
That's it, I'm gonna pretend we are all still living in 1991 and live with the same tech that was available back then and save some extra money for my retirement. I'm officially -and intentionally- an old timer.

Don’t forget how we together sit down every Thursday eve, streaming Oprah on whatever Apple device we could afford and listen to her presenting her revolutionary book and then singing Kumbaya together for world peace, hope, optimism and 60% revenues from services....

Like everything else, you are free to not sign up. It looks like I won't be, but not for that reason. I just think the content looks bad and doesn't fit my style.

The amount of people that are willing and able to afford dozens of subscriptions for each and every single thing in life is limited.

The issue isn't paying $10 for the one streaming service that delivers you all of your content, that would be a good deal, the issue is that you'll have to pay more and more subscriptions because every company wants a piece of the promising new cake of constant subscription-based income.

What companies forget is that the reason subscription-based flat rate offerings were successful in the first place is that consumers were fed up with fragmentation and wanted an easy one stop solution.
Exactly. With how it's handled, it just ends up being an ouroboros.

Privacy (or at least the perceived respect of mine), is my main attachment point these days for sticking with Apple. The rest can *easily* be duplicated elsewhere.

Except Netflix isn't supporting it, are they? Did I miss that?

But what if I want other aspects of the service without the politics?

I absolutely love the Apple Card announcement and the concept but I'm afraid to even see what the credit requirements are. Sky high for excellent credit scores only? Probably. It won't surprise me one bit.

I'd be interested to see a scenario where you get instant approval as long as you have a score above 600 and have been a loyal Apple customer for a specific period of time. I understand credit risk situations and on that note I doubt many people will be able to get instant approval for this credit card -- at least that is the vibe I'm getting at this point in time.

The sheer amount of hate produced by these forums as a result of this particular Apple event will be legendary. Can't wait. :)
Well, now we know the hate was 100% warranted...

I find it really funny that they announced a credit card at a keynote that was otherwise dedicated solely to a bunch of subscription announcements.
