You guys realize that Cook was the brains behind Jobs right? Cook implemented the Apple that we've come to know over the past 20 years. Also, technology has slowed down..there hasn't been much of anything in 5 years other than home automation, etc.

I’m fine with Cook being the brains behind Jobs, even though I doubt that’s true. Jobs had the experience and clout to say NO. Jobs may have needed Cook but it’s obvious the Cook needs a Jobs.

hope not for too long, I don't want too see AAPL owners poisoning every forum with their posts

Sounds like it's time to weigh in. I think the card is a good idea and that was the only part of the event the stock rose on. That's going to do big numbers for AAPL. You consumers have already had a week of toys. I don't like Oprah but she has a huge following.

The content I am not sure about. A world in the future where everybody is blind... not sure about that. Although I don't watch TV at all except for news. So I have to trust there are enough people that sit day in and out and watch any kind of trash they can get. Most of America spends every living moment they aren't at work in front of a TV.

The card is the winner in this show.

That's a good way to put it. This is where the management team needs to get overhauled. If this is the S*** they come up with..man, sound like ideas coming from an entry-level business class.

I'm a little shocked that..with all the talent that works for Apple, that they can't come up with cool innovative ways to deliver customer services/features that add value to the current install base ..that can be monetized. Certainly..someone at Apple Inc has innovative ideas that warrant further development.

What's sad is your takeaway from what was probably the worst Event Apple has done, is you get cheaper magazines.

Well that's simple minded. That was one takeaway I commented about that directly impacts me and what I do/need on a daily basis, so yea, it's a pretty big thing for me. Plus, it's not just cheaper magazines, it's almost free magazines... at my finger tips, any day, time that I would need/want them. For my line of work, keeping up to date with information in these publications is paramount to keeping my business relevant with our customers.

Are some of these magazines available online? Yea, some are. But they're filled with annoying ads and at times, don't publish until way later in the month.

Just because it isn't for you, or exciting for you, or relevant to you is ok.

Consumers generally want new iPhones, and those almost always come in September.

Enthusiasts want new Macs. We got a couple last week, and hopefully we get more at or in time for WWDC.

There is the cool little thing called the "internet" and it has all the content from those magazines literally the second said content is known. Just send me your $10 a month and ill send you a link to the internet. *hint* It's called Reddit.

You can listen to music via youtube videos, but do you subscribe to Spotify or Apple Music? You can watch movies if you look hard enough all over the internet, but do you ever go to the movies or rent them or watch them on other streaming services that you pay for?

You can make your own food for much less but do you ever grab fast food, eat out at restaurants because its good and convenient, fast and easy...

You can say a bunch of comparisons like that lol.

Try harder.

I just don't get it. Has to be by far the most uneventful Apple Keynote that I have ever watched;

- Apple News+

This is RSS-feeds for news all over again. Just that you can't really do this yourself anymore because everything is behind a paywall so if you want to read actual journalism you won't get getting it without a subscription and since RSS can't authorise your subscriptions this is what you get.

Doesn't look that bad, the family sharing is GREAT and all. But like everything else announced today, if you live outside the United States you are clearly not being prioritised by Apple any longer. Didn't look like this will be available for the rest of the World of a very, very long time.

- Apple Card

Perhaps the most interesting thing that got announced. Seems like a nice credit card solution which some huge privacy measurements in place that simply does not exists using regular credit cards.

In order to enforce this privacy you will be limited as it can only be utilised through Apple Pay but that's pretty much the only way for Apple to actually enforce it all so you can't really blame them. But the fact that it will require a Apple device and you will be limited to paying only using Apple Pay might reduce it value for some.

But the biggest problem, yet again is the fact that is US-only. Not living in the US? Well guess what, Apple is just going to ignore you when it comes to half the features and services they are currently focusing on.

- Apple Arcade

Good on Apple for trying to address what has become of the "free-to-play" market, especially for games that is all about trying to push users into paying nonsensical amounts of money using in-app purchases. How well this will work out is hard to tell. By integrating with Apple Arcade you as a developer and publisher are giving up on the hopes of earning the obscene amounts of money through in-app purchases so who will actually utilise this as developers?

I didn't really catch when this will be made available? And was there any geographical restrictions in place? I suppose this is the one thing from the Keynote that was actually relevant on a globale scale?

- Apple TV+

I don't really know what to say. It was obviously the centrepiece of the Keynote but we didn't really get to know much about the service did we? What content providers will I be able to subscribe to? How is the revenue/pricing model going to look like? When will we actually get the darn service? Besides having a bunch of celebrities up on stage talking vaguely about upcoming original content for the Apple TV+ service we didn't get much information or any meaningful at all?

They did mention it will be available in about 100 countries at launch, which means it going to be a global launch. But we have no clue if that's only for the original content, or will Apple be the first to solidify services like HBO Now, Hulu etc so it will be available on a globale scale?

The amount of time dedicated to this service and the several lack of any meaningful information regarding it and the fact that we seem to be 6 months away for hearing anything more it felt rather silly to dedicate such an event to talk about this.

Still no AirPower.

You sir, you said everything I wanted to say.

- Apple News+?
It's nice that their 'News' service gets attention, but if you're not in the US then you're no 'News'—at least you're not getting any. Might as well call it Apple News+US-TheRestOfTheWorld.

- Apple Card/Pay/Thingie and more
This...this I actually was getting hyped about while watching the event.
We (in the Netherlands) still don't have Apple Pay anytime soon, but that Titanium card looks promising. Especially because I think I heard her say that it works everywhere because of MasterCard's network?
If I misheard that...then well I might consider moving to the US because that's where stuff is prioritised apparently.

- Apple-insert-coins-Arcade
It was just a waiting game before Apple would launch their Game-platform, just like Google did.
But...I like it, at least if it will launch the way the keynote showed. I currently got put off from the Games-section in the App Store because of all the crappy, free and unoriginal games (there are still a lot of gems though).

I did saw some duplicate games in their trailer, let's hope it's not a foreshadow of a shallow (or uninspired) collection of games. Depending on the pricing—this might go down as an instant lets-a-go for me.

- Apple TV+ is...what? Tele-vision transformed to Story-vision?
Alright don't lie to me now. But is there anyone eagerly awaiting them stories they showed?

Stop.

I know there are people who are...but wow, I'm like the worst target-group for this...Apple TV+ (what is it?) you can imagine.
Zero interest in hearing actors, writers and whatnot telling their 'stories' on Apple TV+ (again, what is it?) about the most cliché things I've heard ever. If I see Spielberg I want to see a movie, not his vision and more about his work. I watch the movie because I enjoy the movie...kinda the same as I'm not going to watch a documentary about Audi's car even though I love to drive the cars.
Yeah, I already said it. Worst-target group for Apple TV+ right here.

Personally for me this whole event was...kinda uninteresting. Save the Apple Card subject, that was interesting.
But sadly, once again most of it (if not all) was targeted to their US customers.

Why is everyone hyped for the AirPower anyway?
I'm hyped tho.

Have you used a Roku or a FireTV? They are drag like toddler in an airport.

Roku does not. I use it and it is fast and efficient and offers great 4k without any hassle. Not only that it plays from my media server far better than any other service. Apple TV is a joke compared to Roku in every way.

I was excited for the magazine subscription and I liked what I saw. It’s just a shame that it’s not launching in the UK yet.

Kill HBO... by offering HBO?
ATT will kill HBO on its own. No help needed. So how do you kill/purchase Netflix?

1/ You buy it... you may need $175B for it..which apple has.. but wait a second. You can invest the same about and get far more content than Netflix. And thats what apple is doing. They signed up all A listers and trying to for the content quality.

2/ You have huge content library(far better than Netflix) and come up with a subscription model. Thats the Disney move with Disney+ service.

NEWS: I think there is market for this; people like me that don't want "free" news (fallacious, poorly written, poorly researched), but don't want to pay a full newspaper subscription. However, the marketing for this (social justice content) is atrocious and could kill it.

APPLE CARD: Gamechanger: lots of value added, not to mention some of the panache apple use to have

APPLE ARCADE: remains to be seen

APPLE TV: Dead on arrival. Netflix is too far ahead, Disney's library will be too full to compete with. There's a market for "feel good" programming, but viewers tend to turn to streaming services for content they can't find elsewhere: content that takes risks.

I really thought the new features to the Apple services were great, lack of pricing disappointing and to be expected from Apple, I guess. However, as soon as I saw Oprah I automatically cringed, yes I understand she's a very successful and popular person, however, she just says so may cringeworthy things .... please Apple NEW content with less underlying political messages, your company isn't my moral guide!

It was an APPLE EVENT. Sounds like what you need you can get from Publishers Clearinghouse (and maybe $7000 a week for life, if you're lucky!). That was my point. It was an Apple Event and the big takeaway was cheap magazines?

Also, I don't have the actual numbers, but pretty sure 99% of people don't rely on magazines like you do to make a living. So, yes, I'm happy you can save a few bucks and make your job easier. But that wasn't what most people expected from The Event.

I've watched a lot of Apple events and this was absolutely the worst one ever. I usually come away anxious to get the new stuff. Not this time. The Apple TV+ portion was horrible after it was over I was wondering what the heck is it. I think Tim Cook was star struck. So where is Apple headed looks like services is the focus.

This feels like a plea to investors not to jump ship. They had to show off all these new "Services" and deals now or the next few months of Apple's Stock report were gonna look bad. This had investor bait smeared all over it.

It is always obvious when somebody has no shares and says something knee jerk like this. Did it ever go through your mind that Apple has increased in value and has been on fire the past fews months while receiving upgrade after upgrade? Many people bought leading up to this and simply took profits when nothing more than expected was unveiled. All of these products were already priced in.

People are piling back on the the stock not shying away and this is self evident by the recent sharp rises on its value.

I wish there was a one fee pays all for newspapers. Like you indicated "free" (ad spammed) news is often low quality. I wish I could have a variety of pay for news sources for a set fee. Magazines? meh.

If he checked the AAPL price, I can understand why. Thanks for tanking my stock again Tim.

Check your stock again unless you bought it today. It has done very well in the past few months. Do you also thank Tim for that?

Lots of negative Nancy’s here today!
I enjoyed most of the presentation and have signed up for News+ already. Good price if you have a few of their offered items already in mind as I do. The credit car looks interesting, I’ll be looking forward to the actual offer.
The AppleTV stuff less interesting at this point.

Big takeaway was 1) it will be way cheaper if you are already subscribing to one/two of these magazines. Look at WSJ, the monthly fee is 2x compare to apple news+ and thats just one newspaper. 2) you are getting far more content for that $. 3) Better experience, ad free non tracking ****, easier subscription management.

Others will join when this takes off. That will make it more lucrative. And let's now forget the power of default in the apple ecosystem.

While I agree that today was a big turdburger, and that Apple's drive to innovate died with Jobs, it's obvious that some people here don't remember the day Steve summoned us all to unveil the intel Mac Mini and iPod HiFi? (At lest those were products, I guess.)

Look all you need to know about what has happened is the fact that Jobs highlighted the lack of a stylus for the iPad as great thing (and he was right), and now Cook hypes the Pencil as an "incredible, magical" thing. That's the problem in a nutshell.

And if I miss a payment on my Apple Credit Card, do they block my access to my iTunes purchases or my iPhone?
