The Apple TV transmits sound using MAGIC!

Sneak peek at iOS 4.2 - "all about iPad". Brings everything to iPad....multitasking, folders, Game Center, HDR photos, wireless printing, AirPlay
On the iTunes site it still says 9.2.1, but I'm gonna download it anyways, just to see if it is iTunes 10, since all the pages have been updated already. I'll report back.
"All rentals, no purchases, so no storage management. "
This is what Hollywood and Apple (and Amazon, and every digital distributor) really wants. They want to move to put an end to physical media, you will permanently "rent" your titles through a closed system instead of buying and downloading. In a few more decades, the industry will be able to say that there is no legal reason for anyone to "own" a copy of a movie or TV show, everyone will simply be streaming their content from an authorized source (which works just as well for ad-supported media, as well).
OMG! Nanos no longer play video -- they're just a glorified SHUFFLE player now!
Here comes the usuall post event complaining omg no this no that no mac updates whah.![]()
BTW the WD Digital TV is 99 $ and can do by far more than this crappy apple tv thing
EXACTLY. In other words, crap.
My ATV is staying right there and I am happy with it (plus a possible ATV Flash add-on).
I wouldn't be surprised if Apple's adapted the AppleTV backend to iOS4 with the existing AppleTV UI. We may see widgets/apps as part of a future software/firmware update.
I personally like the new apple tv, and i think i might even preorder one. For MOST people its enough. The AVERAGE consumer won't be able to tell between 720p and 1080p. I however download most my movies, and will convert them to iTunes format, and stream them to the tv.
Really? I can rent HD movies a day or two after they air for 99 cents that start streaming immediately?
