iPad2RD (iPad2 Retna Display), no need to call it a completely new thing.

Yep, I don't see anything on the iPad 2 that would make me want to buy it besides the missing Retina Display. I am surprise Thunderbolt is missing, who wants to transfer 64GB though USB 2.0, ugh.

I think more people would have been happy with the iPad 2 if Apple never released a Retina Display iPhone 4, but once rumors starting talking about iPad with a Retina Display who wants to have a low resolution?

Nothing does lol. This is a weak release by apple. I expected more.

Then you had unrealistic expectations. Sorry but the only thing they didn't do which was even remotely possible was the Retina display and that was always going to be unlikely. Not just for cost reasons but manufacturing and CPU / GPU requirements as well. Next year yes, I'd agree if they don't do it then it'd be a problem but this year they're about spot on.

You do realize there are 5 different things in your first two lines right? Not to mention the fact "faster" includes upgrades to both the CPU and GPU.

Yes, and except for processor speed, they are trivial. That's why Apple themselves put them on two lines. :)

I was thinking the same thing while watching the video on the Apple site.

"all this and nothing with the actual display"

<------ spoiled by Retina display :D

Pretty much. lagging behind in technology again. lower resolution screen to Xoom, back camera only does video while Xoom is 5 MP. Very sad. Not one little adjustment to the display. Ridiculous.

Sony's New PSP will have quad core arm CPU And GPU. As powerful as the ps3 on a portable device. Hardly old crappy tech with no horsepower

Back camera doesn't only do video. Know the specs before you talk down on them. Screen resolution also very similar, not like the Xoom has a retina display. I would never buy a Xoom over this, especially since it's more expensive.

US Store is up, but you can't order the damn thing until March 11th! Let me order it and be done with it and not fight on the 11th. Ship the damn thing on the 11th!

It looks like they are trying to manufacture another event at the stores. It's at 5:00PM on a Friday night. Still time to get an iPad and then show it off that evening. Anyway, I think I'll take the plunge this time.

That said, there may be people who change their minds between now and next Friday who would have pulled the trigger today.

There won't be a display update till they can double the resolution.

Can't do that and maintain the 10 hour battery life yet.

wtf on the uk store if you refresh it looks messed up and it says iPad from £329? seriously im not joking or anything... check

yeah noticed that myself. That's gonna piss off a lot of ebay sellers looking to dump prior to iPad2 :D.

Still overpriced though.

And with a battery that lasts about 3 hours. But that's irrelevant since the NGP will have to survive with essentially no component upgrades for at least 3 years. There will be another new iPad in a year, and then another a year after that, and so on.

And the NGP isn't coming out until Holiday 2011, so comparing it to the iPad 2 is pointless. You have to wait for the iPad 3 to make any technology comparisons. That said, I have no idea how Apple plans to implement Retina, a quadcore A6, and keep anything close to a 10 hour battery on the iPad 3.

So the "Personal Hotspot" is for Iphone 4 users, right? So I don't have to jailbreak my phone which I was about to do soon. Just want to confirm this! Also, do you think they will charge extra? I have an Iphone 4 and just recently bought a MBP and always wanted internet on my MBP while on the go.
