Bolded made me laugh hard. Nice one Tyrone Biggums.

Xoom did get some really.....average reviews. Motorolla FTW!

Reviews don't matter for some people. All they care about are tech specs. It's how they live their lives...by numbers. No heart, no soul.

Sold my first iPad after 3 months of not being impressed enough. I'll definitely be giving this one a try in white - great improvements! Sure you can always wait for iPad3,4,5,6...etc, but this is a big enough improvement to warrant buying. Dualcore, facetime, 33% thinner and 15% lighter, same battery life, magnetic cover. The lack of a retina display is negligible for me. Now I just have to hope Sprint takes the Apple pill and gets the iPhone so I can actually use facetime with my immediate family!

I did not by an IPad as I always wait till the technology has been proven and the initial bugs worked out. Plus, I wanted camera's on it. So, I am very pleased with the IPad 2 announcement. It has everything I wanted in the initial IPad, and more, and at the same price. Well done APPLE!!!!

So faster to complete with the xoom. Nothing too exciting thing ill go and preorder my xoom now.

It should be a given that the ram is upgraded on the iPad 2 because I don't think iMovie could function in the manner they showed it without that amount of ram.

I know Apple does a good job when all the Apple haters come out of the woodwork to tell us what a bad product it is.

I thought it was a good announcement. Hardware improvements were about what was expected - it is now much faster. Physically it is thinner and lighter. We get dual cameras (though I am still curious about the quality of stills captured with the rear camera). The new software looks great. I can't wait to pick up Garageband. Also, I think that new cover is really, really cool.

Certainly not a mind-blowing update, but just like last year I think a lot of people built up unnecessarily large expectations. I mean, this thing ***** all over the Xoom, lets face it. Apple was smart showcasing some new software. It makes the Xoom look positively featureless by comparison. As an iPad 1 owner, I am fully aware of the limitations of these devices. Right now, the Xoom is very limited with no apps. And the rest of the competition isn't even shipping for many more months. Looks like Apple has this market on lockdown for another year.

A XOOM with 1ghz Tegra 2, 1gb of ram, 32gb + microsdhc... 2 cameras..HDMI out, LTE +3g is only $70 more than the equivalent iPad 1 and 2.

You were saying?

Useless without software. It has, what? a handful of tablet apps? The iPad has a ton already plus iMove and Garageband coming out day 1 of the iPad 2 release.

Just saying. iPad has the whole package. Xoom just focuses on it's specs and nothing else. Pointless.

No heart no soul? Is that a rocky quote? Doesnt matter Xoom wont do sh**, you know that. HP tab or playbook might.

Anyway update is about on target. About what I thought.

LOL I guess just the idea of the cool new features. *shrugs* I have nobody to facetime so I guess the camera upgrade is really of no use to me.

i have the ipad1 right next to me and don't feel any regret about purchasing it. the only thing i hope is that the wont give the ipad1 owners a limited version of the ios 4.3 (or ios5)

iPad 2. That's it? Really?

Whoopdeeedooo! I am hardly excited. The new dual core chip sounds neat. But no mention of RAM. No screen upgrade, no surprise there. Two camera's. A couple of app's, thinner, lighter, streaming a new case and a few other tweaks. I also didn't hear anything that leads me to believe a iPad 3 could possibly be coming out later this year. I am so underwhelmed it makes my head hurt. I

Dude, I am not saying I or you shouldn't buy it. I was talking about long term health of Apple. Apple needs many parts other tablet makers make. Shouldn't that be a cause for concern for Apple? I'm talking out of concern for Apple as a stock (albeit tiny) holder.

you can't go crazy with specs every time an update is supposed to happen. there won't be much expectation for next time if the device has every single feature every single time it's updated.

The concern would be if they put every single thing they could think of in it and would run out of ideas for any future updates.

Same here. I had my credit card ready and waiting. Being a long time MacBook Air users, I skipped the first iPad (even though I'm usually an early adopter). However, this one looks like a decent upgrade with the better graphics, cameras, and dual core processor. It looks good enough to take on the Xoom and hold its own against whatever else HP, RIM, or Samsung come up with this year.

LMAO
No way bro, I would feel such a nerd hanging out in that line and getting so anxious to buy a hardware. :D

Xoom is only 2 megapixel camera up front, only has 720p Playback, Android is an absolutely shattered OS thats more flakey than Charlie Sheens coffee table, and also has no set syncing software. Xoom is crap its just another iPad wannabe like all the others. We wont see retina display sadly, because why would apple lay all their cards on the table when the competition hasnt even caught up with the first gen ipad? just like the 3gs not getting a front camera... simply because they didnt have to yet so they save it for the next gen model. :apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

Again clearly you just spewing talking point for OTHER PEOPLES REVIEWS..

Tell me what makes the Ipad/iOS better than Xoom/Gtab etc +honeycomb... just give me 10 things hardware or software wise.

Ill wait...

Yeah but it doesn't hide the fact that Apple refuses to represent the real reason why the Xoom is more expensive. The fact that it technically is a better unit.

While that may be true, what does it matter if the thing just doesn't work right? It's lag prone and bet's bloated. You can have the best specs in the world and it won't amount to a hill of beans if the thing just won't give you an intuitive and consistent user experience every time you turn it on.

Severely disappointed

not because of the hardware...hardware was just fine with the iPad 1. disappointed in the OS. nothing was introduced about making the tablet OS more functional and better for the user. nothing to bridge that gap between phones and personal computers.

sigh.....

There's no mention of RAM anywhere on the website. I have very high suspicions of 256mb of RAM still and possibly underclocked processor.

It'll have 512MB of RAM or more. This is likely why they are now introducing Garageband and iMovie now, because the first iPad likely couldn't handle them due to lack of RAM. This one should have more now.

So disappointed. Was holding out hope that they'd sneak in a white iPhone announcement about being available immediately. And then to see a white iPad instead of a white iPhone.... ugh.
