I fought Apple for a long time. I really did. Everybody tried to put me off with the whole argument that everything Apple is proprietary and too expensive blah blah blah blah...got a MBP and it totally blew everybody out of the water. Any other MP3 player I've owned is trash in comparison to the iPod. Had two smartphones before the iPhone and they were both crap. I was never happy with them. New rule...try Apple first...if I'm not impressed THEN try something else. LOL
Personally I suspect the big 'September' ipad reveal they have been speculating about, will not be the iPad 3 - but IOS5
I suspect they are leaving it quiet on info until OSX Lion has been released as to not over shadow it this summer.

So the ipad had loads of new apps on release day? No it didn't...
Honeycomb also runs all apps from other versions of android like ipad can.
It is called the built in photos app.
Any way sounds like the smallest update since the iPhone 3G. You get a new color, a back (useless) camera and a front camera, new apps to BUY, a over priced pos case that can turn your screen on and off. .2 lighter. And Verizon option if you go 3G. Amazing. And I'm stupid for buying gen 1? No you guys are stupid for waiting, apple gen 2s always suck.

Don't get me wrong all the reasons I did not buy the iPad 1 were brought into the iPad 2. But I feel like Apple has forgotten about some of their apps, like iWeb and Aperture. It might be just because I use those everyday but I would love to see update those. I was slightly disappointed today

I personally don't think white works that well on something bigger than a phone. Too much white plastic looks cheap, and gets marked easier and more noticeably than silver. Hope it doesn't discolor too.

I understand that Verizon doesn't use simcards and the iPad will only work with one of the technologies. But does the above mean that you have to jailbreak it to use it with any other carrier than AT&T?

Apps, have so far not hindered my experience, why?
Because Honeycomb web browsing is leaks ahead of iPad 1 browsing speed, tabs(that dont reload)... Thumb navigation of browser just by touching either side of the device.
Apps will come obviously... the apps that are out, they are great and offer more functionality that iOS counterparts.
Yeah, I was expecting some new gestures for switching between apps. I'm also surprised there weren't more software changes besides music and video editing apps that I can't imagine ever needing since I have a Mac Pro and MacBook Air.
Confused. Does iOS 4.3 work with both iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, only iPhone 3G's or only iPhone 3GS? It'd be stupid to see iPhone 3G support considering the iPod touch 2G support is dropped and iOS 4 runs absurdly bad on iPhone 3G.

Why, oh WHY! I have to upgrade the OS just to sync my new iPad? Of note, the windows version will work with Windows XP. Grrr. Of course, I'll still get one. =-) But now have to decide on whether to upgrade the OS, or get a new computer. Ugh.

they did not say anything about garageband's compatibility. So I think it's compatible with iPad 2010 also.
iPad 2 is a new product. 3GS was NOT thinner and was not altogether a different form factor. Did not have an all new processor along with the rest. I don't even know why I'm posting this, your comment was ridiculous.
More likely it's that AT&T is the only network that uses those 3GSM frequencies in the US. I'm guessing it will work in Europe with a local microsim like the last one.
