Free upgrade for Snow Leopard and above, I believe... which for current Mac users is essentially everyone.

Is Mac OS X Maverick suppose to be like Windows 8.1? It is hard to believe a new OS X they will let you upgrade for free, there is almost nothing free when it comes to Apple, still scratching my eyes because it is hard to believe this.

Does no one actually need hard drive space anymore? 128/256 gigs are not what I would need at all.

Yes, if you don't trust the cloud.

I like to have all my stuff on one HD, move it over to another HD for storage if not always used and most of all i like to upgrade gradually as I have the money.

Didn't hear about Fusion option.

The way they sell it now you have to buy the top of the line right away.

And, if something faster comes along you can't easily upgrade.

Looks like no more love for the non retina MBPs.

Umm… People who buy Mac Pros are completely fine with this pricing. I paid $5600 for my last Mac Pro. This pricing is really good.

I'll take your word for it, but my 2010 iMac is as slow as can be for image editing. I was hoping they'd keep the pricing of the pro at 2500, so i could make the jump. No way would I make that jump for 3k. I'll look at a PC for that price with a killer monitor to boot.

I have to say, as a hardware junkie I want the new Mac Pro like I want the new Microsoft Surface Pro 2, well I can afford one of those at least hahaha. But I want both :(

Hmm the Pro in the UK will start from around £2600 then, and most likely rise to £3500 for a good spec one, the storage will be the killer though, how much will they rinse you for a 512gb drive upgrade.

We still have servers from 2006 in active duty at my work...
Macs are quality products but so are most other servers.

You can't compare Mac pro to your standard windows consumer desktops.
