Apple ALMOST nailed the Mac Mini. They should have offered one with dual flash SSDs like the iMac Pro and a maybe a SATA bus for large 2nd SATA SSD. An i9 would have been nice.

However, 64GBs RAM, 2TB flash, 6-Core i7 and the T2, (love that!), if it’s not $2500 for the high end model I’ll buy a pair. And please, no more soldering parts Apple please. I’m still using modified 2009 Mac Pros for a reason.

We’ll see.

MacBook Air 2018 - Looks amazing... too expensive. 128GB SSD model for $1199. Hopefully they'll keep selling the older MacBook Air.
Mac Mini 2018 - Looks to be a solid upgrade except that 128GB is almost too small for a phone let alone a computer.
And since I'm being all negative here... It's obvious Angela has no idea what she's talking about.

I'm not saying right now.. but price is eventually going to kill them. Competitors are coming out with nicer and nicer products for far less. No justification for these price hikes... money hungry.

Yep - the only place in the world they could get applause for that is New York, where the bohemian types don't eat for six days a week just to have a glowing Apple on their desk. That's why they are in the jungle today; they know their audience.

Yeah that's what I wanted to do with this one. Run a few headless services + plex. Not sure if I can rationalize the $800.

I don't see these sort of computers as good value proposition for an always on server. These are decent machines, but an always on machine serving ontent has other things that need consideration.

if you're looking to build a plex server, I would massively recommend not using an Apple comptuer (unless you've got an old one laying around). Heck, I wouldn't even recommend windows.

A custom built "server" to spec is the best bet. I'm more than happy to help give advice on building out a purpose built server (as I do it for a living)

Sure am glad I sold my 2012 mac mini last month! This new one is nice and would have killed the value of the 2012.

I'd be all over the new mini if my needs hadn't changed to where I need mobility for my primary system.

I'm not so sure the new Mini will kill the value of the 2012. It will depend on how upgradeable it is. If the SSDs and RAM are soldered, the new Mini's reception could be quite cool.
