The iPhone 7 box includes a Lightning-3.5" adapter cable and a Lightning-USB adapter cable. And then people claim that groundbreaking technical innovation is dead. Let's hope that I don't mix them up with my Lightning-Apple Pencil adapter. Or my Lightning-HDMI adapter. Not to mention my Lightning-SD card adapter. I already have an entire cupboard shelf full of Lightning adapters, bring 'em on, that's what I say.

You have to realize these same people would complain no matter what happened in the keynote. There is literally nothing that could happen they would appreciate.

Exactly. Most of them have their complaints written out before the keynote starts so they can just copy and paste.

But, check out the "It has SHIPPED" threads in a week or so - they will be exploding with excitement. LOL

Wasn't it stated somewhere that the iphone 6 was a little bit a rip off as it was not 2x as fast as the 5s, which usually was the case with a newer version?

Well, the new iPhone 7 is often only compared to the iPhone 6 - 2x as fast as the iPhone 6, not as the 6s. So, same story again?

I have been vocally opposed to this decision, but if you think they removed it "just to be jerks," you are sadly mistaken.

Removing it probably helped a bit for the taptic engine, dual speaker setup and the water/dust resistance

Anyone else pissed that the jet black doesn't come in 32gb? Seems like a blatant money grab. Holy ****, Apple, when does it stop?

Wow, I missed this part  wtf haha, so freaking greedy. It will never stop. They gotta prepare (milk customers more) if they lose the tax doding case.

I am rather late to the fold. I purchased my first Mac in 2010, and it---and OS X---changed everything for me. I became a convert. A short time later, Steve Jobs died, and I felt like I had lost a family member. I have been an enthusiastic proponent of All Things Apple, until recently. I am sure that Tim Cook is being a good caretaker, and is serving the shareholders well (which is, let's face it, his number One priority). However, after watching today's event, I am seriously starting to wonder if Apple is not laying the groundwork to get out of the computer business entirely and just produce iDevices and Services. And to feature Bad Music to conclude their events.

It's not any thinner?! They removed the headphone jack just to be jerks. Couldn't they have made the headphone jack ejaculate any water that got it in like the new Apple Watch?!

And no lighter? Must be the first new Apple product for decades that's not thinner and lighter than its predecessor.

Edit: Ok so apparently it's a little bit lighter but I doubt anyone will notice.

So I'm definitely in for new Watch (I was sold at the waterproofing since I'm a swimmer/surfer/boater), the phone looks terrific, the lens bulge is of no consequence (really, I spend cycles on how my house looks, my cars, etc., the little aesthetic things are meaningless, and no physical concerns with a case), headphone port [loss] is of no consequence (BT, or AirPlay to AV/Sonos, or an adapter with headphone amp). I'd definitely consider an update plan allows for it, and it's about 1/2 credit (I think that's the deal with the Verizon payment plan?)

Really should have had someone more upbeat... I'm getting more depressed by the minute.

So, I'm with AT&T. I usually just do a two year contract (I have one line that is a year old that I hand down to my daughter, and then I upgrade her line - that way I always have an upgrade available). Are the contracts dead? Only options are AT&T Next, Apple Upgrade, or full cash payment (which I can certainly do, if needed). Still holding on to unlimited data - not going to lose that, I hope?

Edit: Yep, I just checked - I can do Apple Upgrade, Apple Installment (no upgrade every year), ATT Next and pay in cash. I like handing my year old phone down to daughter and selling hers, so will likely just pay cash.

Last year, you could only do the old traditional contracts through AT&T, not through Apple. Probably the same this year.

This is your definition of absurd? What exactly would you have wanted?

Better camera, faster processor, more colors option? Removal of jack for wireless, fine!
Airpod with 5 hrs of usage and going for 159 and not forgetting it's a mere design iteration of the original earphone. Not trying to diss Jony but most wireless earphone design has rubber tips & flanges to ensure it doesn't fall out, Airpod on other hand. Good luck for not falling out and breaking.

Most people would buy an iphone but wait a minute... we cannot listen to my earphones while we charge it? Maybe get yourself another adaptor or upgrade your earphones to an airpod. Either way, apple going to milk all your cold hard cash.

****ing laugh

PLEASE READ THIS:

For all the people who are worried on how to charge and listen to your headphones without buying Bluetooth headphones...you can buy adapters like the one below on the cheap and STILL keep your existing headphones WITHOUT having to plug anything other than the charger into the phone.

Hope this helps!

I think a lot of us were talking wired - looking like it will be a "Y" adapter which will annoy folks

Ok, so maybe not because they are jerks, But they are definitely arrogant to think that no one uses or wants to use the headphone jack. I know Apple has ALWAYS been this way, but they infuriates me with this kind of thinking.

I am torn. I like the upgrades. But the arrogance and the potshot taken at those of us who love our wired headphones really grated on me. Could have been handled better. I don't really feel like buying now because I feel like I'd be vindicating their arrogance.

I definitely don't appreciate the arrogance of reserving the new jet black color for the higher price/storage tier. But I know many will come up with great justifications for this.

Sia Ga Ga won't help sell me on this. I'll have to think about this using logic and reason and seriously evaluating what I want.

Definitely won't be preordering.

Assuming you are older(sorry) just like me (well maybe not that old. I am 64), we have to admit that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The new features etc. are nice, however they will still be there when I get my 8S.
By then there will be plenty of capacity to have black throughout the line.
No biggie anyway as I use a black case.

As for wireless vs. corded: It is hard to give up things one is accustomed to, especially when we have all these different devices that have the 3.5 mm connectors.

Rest assured that in a few months nobody is going to complain and in a year or so , wireless is the norm and corded will be hard to find.

The pain is softened by the bandaid adapters for now. Sticks and stones..., so any potshot doesn't matter and if that is how they feel, why not allow them to say so?

Just need to see a few reviews and try stuff at the store to see if earphones are worth $ 159.

Me thinks no, as I wreck stuff, lose things and just do not care about the quality of the sound for talk radio.

Sia doesn't do it for me either, except for one song, but then as one ages, music is not that important any more compared to teen and twen years.
Kids gone and working on retirement is a job all in itself.

Be good:)
