I dont get this Lego thing.. you have real toys in front of you, why would you still use a iPad?
Calm down, it's just a tech demo showing some of the capabilities of AR.
Oculus Rift comes with a demo app called toybox. A table full of toys, sling shots, ray guns, remote control tanks, fireworks, etc. That was amazing in an immersive 3D world.
Looking at images of AR toys on the 6" screen doesn't sound all that interesting.

Lego: "creating exciting play possibilities".. ARKit will sell lego kits. So unless you can sell a tangible product, there is no tangible revenue stream for creating an ARKit app.

What is the point of this? Either play with the physical Lego or make a Lego game - what does AR bring to this?
This is great for kids! Obviously they’re not expecting adults to waste productive time on this.
It clearly shows lego has lost contact to his customers.
2-3 years olds holding a tablet instead of building up skills in handmoving. No responsible parent will buy this crap.

At some point with glasses a lot will change. Right now we're still in proof of concept
