Micheal Owen, injured in the game with the Arse on Saturday is traveling to Turkey with the England squad, and id reported to be 50/50 to play. He tore the membrane between the bones in his lower leg, but didn't damage the ankle joint.

I saw the fall, I thought he'd ripped his foot off:eek:

you should have heard us in the pub when they slow-mo'd the fall.

pissed to see him go to turkey though, he's only gonna get kicked to death, let's hope becks keeps an eye out (did i just say that?)

hear about otsemabor though? got shot in the ass  seriously

That cracked me up :p

His mum is quoted in the papers, saying "He doesn't like to go out at night". Ha! That explains why he was shot late at night in the city-centre.......

Maybe this is how the FA plan to stop players diving? Seriously, if their arse is in pain, they'll do all they can to stop themselves falling on it!

Thankfully it wasn't damaging to our progress. Whatever the ins and outs of recent events, injuries, boycotts etc, we're through to the Euro 2004 finals! :) :D :)

England 0 - 0 Turkey
'twas pretty exciting for a nil-nil draw though. The turkish players were diving all over the place!

Liverpool put in a very impressive display to dispatch Olympija 3-0 (4-1) last night at Anfield.

With Owen, Biscan, Hamann and Carra sidelined it looked an odd team with Kewell on roving forward duty and a start for LeTellac, who looked very sharp.

Heskey lumbered around all night, missing two and scoring one, I'll give him his due, he never stopped running.

The third goal was a beaut, one touch stuff from our half ending in a great cross from Heskey and a cracking finish from Kewell.

It was a good sign for Pool, missing the boy-wonder and still bagging 3:D

Yeah, you guys did alot better (again) than our so-called "super" squad (pensioners).
Came second... gotta play playoffs against the Scotts. Thats going to be very interesting. Our trainer (Dick Advocaat) has been trainer for the Rangers a couple of years....
Berti Vogts knows Dutch football..... he's German: he should know :D

After missing out the last international tournament, we are so anxious to get to Portugal.
Need a new squad though...

Bloody Berger, I knew he'd come back to haunt us, scores in the first 5 mins, has another cleared, he's playing out of his skin.

Its strange how these things happen.....
Good victory for Arsenal though! Yeehaa!
I'll be at Highbury for the game against Fulham. Can't wait :)

Poor old Inspector Clouseau looked close to tears last night. I can't see him being in charge for the start of next season; he'll probably be 'promoted' to Director of Football, whatever the hell that means.

And Arsene Wenger's Red'n'White Army march on and on...

You know, I've been thinking about this thread for a while, but nothing good enough has happened, and now this debacle, I'm soooooo pissed off, I just knew Pompey were going to nick it after Owen passed the ball to Hislop instead of taking a penalty, talk about bottling it...

I'm gutted, we're not going to make the Champions League this year, and on Sundays showing we won't make anything of the UEFA either.

I think winning the UEFA is the only thing that'll save Le Boss now, and even that is by no means certain.

i used to be a big fan of Le Boss, but he really has not been the same since his heart op. the scouse odyssey of 2001 was luck, and Gary Mac. we were jammy in all the finals. that is the only reason he hasn't already become the first sacked manager.

but enough is enough, i mean, pompey had their 2nd team on the pitch, 14 first team players were out through injury/suspension or whatever.

it's just so frustrating, last weekend we played some sublime stuff at times, and were unlucky to not score more, but we have to make our own luck, and we have to believe. we have the talent.

we need to sell owen to barca for 50 million. we need cisse, we need to knock a few heads together and actually have a go, not say "we deserved to win, i'm proud of the players" as GH says every tossin' week. shout at them, if they get injured, ignore them. it worked for shanks.

make them proud that they're pulling on that red shirt.

I couldn't agree more Evo, Houllier has lost the bite that made him so effective at getting the best out of an ill-fitting bunch of players.

I'm really not surprised mind, that kind of illness would knock the stuffing out of anyone, he looks sacred sometimes, he should quit for his own good, he just hasn't got it anymore, and the squad is in free-fall.

Owen will leave at the end of this season, Cisse may be a good replacement, but others have to go too, Smicer, Heskey, Dudek...

If they all played like Hamann and Gerrard every week we'd be right up with the Arse...

God, I'm depressed.

you ought to try being a Sky Blues fan mate... :p :p

Yeah, but you've had time to get used to the feeling, it looked for a while there that things were getting back to normal for Liverpool....

(sobs)

alan hansen...best manager we never had. maybe. i know rushie was coaching the strikers at one point, maybe we could convince him to actually be a striker again. get barnsey back and team up with didi and stevie g.

and what the heck is up with ray houghton??? what a wanker the way he was talking through the game, dude, you played for us, remember? bastard.

iGAV, we may be joining your ranks soon lad...

ahhh the joys of modern technology...

so i get to watch tonight's UEFA Cup 2nd leg game against Marseille thanks to a few things.

so, we have an English team, playing a French team, in France, in a European competition...being broadcast in the United States by a TV company in Uruguay, and with possibily a Spanish Commentator and who knows where that guy is sitting whilst commentating! but as it's only on Dish Network, I have to have a friend tape it for me, then drive into Manhattan to the pub where there'll be a big crowd waiting to watch it. all that for what will no doubt be an excruciatingly frustrating performance from our beloved boys in red.

we must be mad
(at least it's not being aired live at 6.30am on a sunday! - which of course has happened many a time...)

less than an hour to go....we will win...with baros scoring...hopefully..he's been a real handful since he's been back. After we win we can dance all the way up the rue de canny beer..most famous street in soth france/marseille

Liverpool FC are playing in NYC!!!!!!!

well, kind of, they're playing across the Hudson in New Jersey, at Giants Stadium (home of the NY Giants, makes real sense that)

two games confirmed... AS Roma vs Liverpool in NJ, and Liverpool vs Celtic in Connecticut.

i already have tickets behind the goal!! woop woop!!

let's see if they're coming over with a new manager......

oh i can't wait!!!! gotta try and get them to visit our supporters club! hah! how cool??!!?!?!

can ya tell i'm a tad excited? :D

Man U are going to the same tourney, you might get a chance to see them kicking lumps out of each other. :D

I'm off up to Anfield in a couple of weeks for the Charlton game, they're my local premiership side, and there's a bunch of us travelling, although I'm in with the "Pool fans. :D

What do you think, Champions League next season or not? Will Owen Still be there? Will Houllier survive without it after another losing season?

To be fair, Le Boss has won a lot of silverware for us, but it's the Premiership and the CL that only seem to count in most peoples minds these days.

Bloody Arsenal are a joy to watch this season aren't they?

so yeah, ManUre are coming over, as well as Chelsea, AC Milan, and of course AS Roma, Celtic and Liverpool. there's talk of a thrid LFC game in DC but that's just a rumour right now.

as for the fourth CL place, it'll be close for sure, but i think we'll do it, if only 'cause Gerrard is playing out of his skin since becoming captain. GH needs to either leave, or get a kick up the arse (from the whole team and then some). what's with his "we deserved to win, the players can be proud of themselves" bollocks after every draw or loss??? grow some balls man! and as for the 2001 "a scouse odyssey" season, well, we were lucky weren't we? if it wasn't for Gary Mac and the Hand of Henchoz, we wouldn't have got half of what we did.

my predictions, GH out, CL qualification (although if we achieve the latter, the former will more than likely stay). if GH goes, Mikey will stay. as will Stevie G. GH has ruined so many players, look at Riise and Heskey, they were great when they joined.

anyways, i can't talk about this any more...

and yeah, the arse look like they're in a different league. sublime.
