First. You were a beta tester. He never claimed it was freeware. If you followed the official beta thread on macthemes you would have known this was coming.
You can't assume I knew I was a beta tester. Not everyone has the time to check every forum out there for threads. There were no notes on the Cydia listing / changelog warning about the "official support forum thread" or any impending changes. The OP on this thread mentioned that LockInfo was a "free alternative to Intelliscreen" and I checked it out, it worked out pretty nicely for me, but now that it's gone commercial, I no longer have any interest in it. I just wish the first post could be edited by the OP or a Mod to change the information so that others won't be misled, especially now that it's now a commercial app.
Again, you've assumed quite a bit in your additional comments. I'll just ignore that - I may have come on a bit strong due to my disappointment about having to pay for this software now, and I'm sorry if I offended you. BUT it was a genuine surprise to me, and you can't blame me for not knowing better (especially in this day of extended or even permanent "betas"!).
After reading your comments, I've looked around, and indeed it does seem he warned people on forums that he frequented that things would change. However, I still find it interesting that nothing was put up on the Cydia page/changelog until a day or two after the change happened. Maybe you feel much more trusting of Mr. Ashman, and are very much pro-LockInfo. More power to you.
On my part, I can't help but have my doubts about people who use third party forums to provide their official vehicle of information and support, and are not completely up-front about impending changes to the program in the primary venue where the program is provided (Cydia). Especially when you're on the "wild west frontier" of jailbroken iPhones and all that...
Let's agree to disagree. You go on helping others out with LockInfo here. I've already said my part. I hope someone will be assertive enough to get that first post fixed so that it'll not be so misleading. At least now on Cydia it's upfront about it being a commercial app, so it'll not be a big surprise anymore. I've gotten rid of the program (not without some regrets, tho - it was nice while it lasted), and am outta this thread. Cheers!
