Because he can't make it thiner any more.
200M isn't even in the same ballpark as $8B, lol/
20 years. wow. That's a shame to lose such an experienced designer. I'm suprised the other designer left Apple for GoPro.
Creatively speaking, it's generally not a good thing to remain at one place too long.
I'm sure he made a good living, possibly enough to retire or start a new venture.
Well,, we all have to go at some point..
If Ive does go as well, u can say goodbye to good products.
Its more of a question of "If u bring in new people, what will change as a result" ?
...or maybe he saw an opportunity to feel challenged again. Working for "#1" for that many years could leave anyone feel like - "where do I go from here?" Answer: A new career elsewhere. But mr. Stringer decided that GoPro is better place for work than Apple.
No matter what your age is - ignore the comment. For Christ's sake, get off your high horse over how other people talk and/or express themselves. You....nope....breathing in, breathing out....I'm not going to say what I would really like to say.Which grown adult uses "u" in place of "you"? Looks like baby speak...- you did GO to school... right? If you are 14 years old, forgive me - ignore my comment.

Cue in all the hate.
People come in and go in companies. 20 years can make an employee less open to new ideas. Sometimes fresh new people are needed to rejuvenate a company, and sometimes the old ones need to leave for the new ones to grow.
I was hoping it was Jony Ive

Highly ironic, spoken as you look down from yours!LOL
Double standards eh? Or were you SO busy typing your frantic "peace keeper" speech, you missed the utter hypocrisy entirely?
Wait, what company are we discussing again? To be in a place that is stuck, with pretentious greedy management and being a person with a lot of creativity and ambitious... is like being dead a live. Time to go.

Jony is a brilliant hardware designer. He is a terrible software designer. But he doesn't relealize the latter, nor that in software design, usability is actually pretty important. Many of us are still bitter that he took over software design because iOS 10 is only just finally almost as usable as iOS was prior to his leadership. It's still tacky and sterile looking though.Out of curiosity, why the Jony hate?
I stand by my comment. Your post was unnecessarily crude, and I called you out on it in the same way.
This is exactly what happened. Tim Cook has turned Apple into a rehash company designing the same products again and again. No wonder he felt like leaving. Pushing the boundaries of design is not comething Cook cares about. It's all about profit margins and costs to CookTo be in a place that is stuck, with pretentious greedy management and being a person with a lot of creativity and ambitious... is like being dead a live. Time to go.
With two experienced, long-time, top designers leaving in barely a year, it makes you wonder if that's just a coincidence, or if there's perhaps 'trouble in Paradise'?I was hoping it was Jony Ive
Do you really think Steve did such a bad job picking his executive team?
