While that's cute, tell me what a 2017 Mac Pro would have over a 2013 Mac Pro? Really, stop and think about that for a moment. The current Mac Pro is already a serious powerhouse, hence why Apple has gotten away with not updating it in so long. People looking to _buy_ one have a different reason — buying a 3-year-old computer at full price is a bit of a stretch. I agree with that.
It's not about what can and what can't you do, it's also about the really high price for 3 years old hardware and Apple tell ppl that this is best workhorse...bla bla...have a look what kind of computer you can get for the same money at the moment and you can make a hackintosh or install whatever you want. Mac Pro is still nice but 100% not for the money. Apple rip you off.

You never know, maybe he had a phobia for donut-shaped buildings. For the life of me I can't figure out why it is supposed to be so wonderful. But the truth of the matter is, we have no idea why this industrial designer, about whom we know very little beyond what he worked on 5 or 10 years ago (new designs presumably not yet released), is leaving Apple. But it's probably not because of too few design constraints.

The main problem is that tim cook is too "nice" for ceo. We need another darth vader.

Aside From the sarcasm, what does "Nice" have anything to do with Tim Cook, let alone him being a CEO? There is no correlation to that and this article.

Cook told him to quit creating and just come up with more cool looking ways to put ads in front of people.

Yeah, maybe ithings also get boring after 5, err 10, I mean 20 years, sigh. Maybe that is why things at Apple are not running as smoothly anymore, everyone burned out, and fresh idea not getting approved by old "top" management, ...

Any designer who wants to put his Stamp on the world and works under Jony will have to leave at some point. Jony has a large shadow. You can always after the NDA ends say I worked on this or on That and your name might show up on one or the other Patent Filings but Jony's light will always shin brighter so this can be a career move or the end of the line depending on where you end up going.

Good for him: I wish him luck...

... and hope for a new, fresh product design for us.

Modern graphics cards, especially since so much pro software utilizes GPUs. Compare a GTX 1080 with the ATI cards in a MP. Intel, on the other hand, hasn't done as much on the CPU side of things.

I also think the form factor is ill suited for a pro-level machine. The old tower was much more expandable and upgradable, which are things pros like/need to do.

It wouldn't surprise me if Apple phases out of the pro market entirely, and starts using their inhouse A-series chips for consumer Macs. In a few more generations, they'll probably run circles around Intel's low end chips.

Steve was nice on the outside but ruthless inside.

I think one word Steve would detest the use of to describe him would be "nice". Nice is such a vanilla term. Steve was anything but vanilla.

Also, parking in handicap spaces for the hell of it (as Steve is known to have done for a long time before he got sick) is anything but "nice".

Do you really think Steve did such a bad job picking his executive team? . . . .

Yes what worked for Apple when Steve was alive and what will work without his oversight are two completely different teams. The ability to sit back and take Steve's all or nothing attitude for years, then all of a sudden have to stand up on your own requires two different mindsets.

So I think Jobs picked exactly the right people for Apple when he was leading it, and exactly the wrong people for after he left.

your jonny? ewe

Ewe should check your spelling...

Yeah no surprise, at their rate I'd probably leave too... No Mac updates to work on for years and same iPhone design 3 years in, I'd get fed up too.
It's all part of the plan. Apple was afraid with him still around, the next Mac update would've been TOO awesome! Got to tone it down a bit! :rolleyes:o_O

To be perfectly fair and honest? Based on hind site?

Yes, I think he picked a crappy team. Without Steve job's to lead the team and be the guy who said "No" or "yes" and controlled the people under him, the current leadership team seems to be very stuck in a mindset that They are always right, because they've been right in the past. I think many of the people he picked for the team, without him directing them, are pathetically lost.

This is Hubris. The current executive team seems very VERY full of Hubris lately.

To be perfectly fair so is this post...
