If copy and paste is limited to just a few select Apple supplied apps, what's the point in having Tuesday's thing geared toward developers? It's not like they'll need a new SDK to tap into it, because they won't be able to use it  I hope it can be used in any text area, label, document, etc. Universal clipboard. And a new Springboard has no impact on developers either. The only thing that the OP mentioned that might be developer-related is the background capabilities, if they are in fact true (and I'm so hoping it is). It does sort of go along with that report a month or so ago that background applications were coming and current iPhones will get 1 or 2 background apps, but the new iPhone will get more due to better hardware.

Because I am an iPhone developer, and also, he is really close to me, he is basically our family friend.

He is the one who introduced me to programming code. He thought I would be interested with what's coming up with the iPhone OS. This is why he sent me the email.

He signed the NDA, but the officials told him that he can share the info as long as they sign the NDA as well.

So, shove off.

...Thats BS. Why do people lie on the internet to make themselves feel important?

what's the release date of the new OS, 3/17??

There is no release date yet. All that's happening on Tuesday is that Apple is going to preview the 3.0 OS for the media. Also possible that there will be a new beta version of the iPhone SDK to allow developers to start programming apps that will work with the new OS. There is no release date for 3.0, even Apple doesn't know yet I'm sure... they probably only have internal target dates at this point.

I hope this is true, mainly for the stacks and bigger dock. Background apps mean nothing to me.

the way the OP is being treated, I'd be afraid to share anything new on here.

OP,

Thanks for the info bro. I certainly appreciate any new info.

Its only because he might have info that the whole world has been waiting to hear....

Thanks for the info alchemistmuffin, I also appreciate it a lot. :D

I appreciate it as well. Especially if it's true! ;)

Now, my friend also sent me shots of what is the next iPhone. Someone already posted this pic, but the next iPhone will have a shell that is full unibody, carved from one aluminum. This means plastic will be gone (hopefully).

Where?

And someone on here that is really rich, there has to be someone wealthy, pay this fool for some photos and let's get some real front page news goin here already! :D I got 2 fitty to throw in for starters (2.50)

If I'm not mistaken, the NDA prohibits talking about unreleased firmware too... Not just screenshots. Geeze.

Again I'll ask WHERE? If Someone's already posted this pic as you say then we should be able to see it correct? And I'm not talking about that titanium pic either.

That sounds about right (limiting 3 apps to push). This was the first thing that came to mind when the 3.0 announcement came out last week. I was thinking how in the hell would an iPhone be able to handle so many tasks and background notifications without crashing or imploding? I mean the memory is already pretty limited, I can already foresee a slower iPhone in the future unless 3.0 includes some sort of new code to handle multitasking A LOT better.

As for the new iPhone (2,1), I'm certain it will have lots more memory as well processor power to handle this multitasking.

Sorry, I can't believe the aluminum body. There are too many antennas in this thing to allow them to do that. Look at the size of the antenna cover on the first iPhone...this one has to stay plastic.

We'll know come Tuesday, though. At least I think so. With the Pre release imminent...I could see them releasing a new iPhone within a month or two.

Seriously. I'm all for people breaking their NDA if it means getting cool new info about stuff I'm looking forward to buying, but using the NDA as an excuse to not share screenshots while breaking the NDA by talking about the new software is ridiculous. As in, unbelievably ridiculous. Keyword: unbelievable. ;)

I think Steve himself said that in wwdc 08 but maybe I'm wrong

Psh,, keeping secrets is so overrated, you should showed us all the screenshots that you have and everything that you know =]

If your friend really works at apple, ask him If he knows anything bout Steve's health :)
