I ordered at 9am picked up at 12pm yesterday, base M1 air from local Harvey Norman, Apple date here is 11th Jan lol. Got a 10% discount too, seems ridiculous the big retailers here in Australia are getting them and Apple have a 1 month wait.
Apple probably commits a certain number to each retailer. Here in the US the base models are often available same-day, but upgraded models show 4-5 week deliveries from Apple and resellers.

Ordered a standard MacBook Air M1 in Space Grey December 1st. They can still reach it, but doubt that it will arrive on 17 Dec.
Same for me as well. Not yet shipped however, EDA is tomorrow (Germany)

Mine was ordered on 12/2 and is listed on tracking as to be delivered today(12/16). The 8 gb of memory and 512 gb drive model listed as the alternate to the base model on the Apple web site. Anxiously awaiting its arrival. Seems to have started in Tennessee. I am in Texas.

It's insane -- the dates just keep moving out. Is demand that high or is it a supply issue? I think I'm going to cave and just place an order for an 8/512. I was hoping it would become available at my local store but that doesn't seem likely, plus the stores are now indefinitely shut, means definitely not reopening till well past the holidays.

Ordered Dec. 1 via expercom (8/7/16/1). I've asked them what happened, with a reply that demand for M1 Macs are extraordinary high. So far, I'm still waiting it to ship.

I've ordered it with express shipping so it should be much faster once it shipped. Question is when.

I did order a non-CTO build 8/8/512 on 12/19. Estimated delivery is Jan 7-14.

Put an order in for a base MacBook Air yesterday.

Delivery estimated 15th to 22nd January.

Its not just MacBooks most stuff from apple is delayed at the moment. Wanted to get a braided loop Apple Watch band but even that has a month long wait.

Just to give hope to all of you.

Ordered a BTO machine on December 10th (7 GPU Cores/512SSD/16RAM/FrenchCanKeyboard). It's supposed to arrive Jan. 6th-12th.

It just went to "Preparing for shipment" as of December 27th. So it seems to be on time.

Horror story.

I ordered my M1 MacBook Air on November 20 with an estimated ship date of December 15-22. As of December 13 I hadn’t heard a thing, so I checked the Apple Store app. Lo and behold, the order was canceled. Very disingenuously, the order said, “You canceled this item on December 11.” Which is BS: I didn’t cancel anything. Apple canceled the order, for no apparent reason, with no email or notification and no explanation.

To make matters more confusing, at the very same time that they canceled my order, Apple created a second order, with the exact same order number, that said the computer would be delivering between December 15 and December 22.

Talk about weird.

So I called into Apple and eventually spoke to a senior rep. She clarified that the order was canceled as a result of a “backlog cancelation.“ I’ve literally never heard of this before, and it makes no sense considering that people in this very forum ordered after me and have had no issues.

But the rep said that it looked like Apple was still going to ship it in December, hence the duplicate order saying it was still shipping.

Now, for no apparent reason, the estimated delivery date for that order has been pushed back to the end of January. Specifically, I am being told that the computer won’t ship until January 18-25.

What the actual f*ck?

Config: 16GB memory, 2TB storage
It is a horror story and a very frustrating one! The same thing happened to me with the same configuration and the Apple customer service couldn't do anything but apologize. The worst part is that the amount for my actual order was still held on my debit card and they were trying to debit again the same amount for the new order. Since I didn't have anyone who could bring me the MBA from the US at a later date, I had to cancel everything and requested a refund. I am certain that Apple has a supply issue with both the 16GB memory and the 2TB SSD. If I were to place a new order today I'd get a delivery date 5 to 6 weeks from now. So I'm just going to wait until the supply issues are resolved and I'm keeping my 2015 MBP for a little longer. It works well but its battery life is not what it used to be and I'm not updating beyond Mojave to avoid having any performance issues.

Mine was ordered 12/19. Delivery date says Jan 7-14. However, website still shows it in "processing" state. If at all, I expect it closer to Jan 14. Otherwise, I can see it getting delayed beyond.

Wonder if Ming-Chi Kuo will provide insights on whether it's a supply side or demand issue. I'm thinking supply side problems because if it were demand, Apple would be able to forecast the delivery date more accurately.

re MBP battery: most of the 2015 models qualify for the battery replacement recall. Google it and plug in your serial. Mine did, just in time for the sale.

The shipping times are ridiculous! 2-3 weeks out still and none in the stores here. I’ve never seen these kinds of delays on a new MacBook release.

Indeed. I entered a gift credit card that expires Jan 31 along with my regular card and am getting worried that I'll lose that amount if it doesn't get charged by then (supposedly Jan 21-26).

Ordered MBA 13" 8/8/16GB/1TB 3/12/20 - Shipped 2/1/21 - Est Arrival 8/1/21.
