So far, so good here.

Just loaded it on my iBook G4 (12"/1.2GHz) with no issues. Plus, it fixed my wireless issues.

The size of my installer was 97 (or so) MB, and this is a clean, updated system.

Thanks, I might take you up on that if APE and/or ClearDock actually quits on me... for now it works fine... :)

Welcome. :) The reason I like this a lot better is because it doesn't alter as much as if I install APE it just exchanges the png for a transparent one. I just don't trust APE...

I seriously don't see what's wrong in the pic that you are complaining about...

Whew, here I thought my complaint was going to be unheard of  .

What I was complaining about is that the dock freezes (Not always, but many, many times) when hot corners are enabled. My exposé hot corner is to the bottom left, and sometimes when I use it (And I use it a lot, coudn't live without it)...

You should try it, set your hot corner in the same spot for a day or so, you'll see what I'm talking about (Assuming you use hot corners, and don't hide your dock)... Its been here since 10.4.0 (It was fine in panther)

A long time coming - I'm happy for all you Tiger users out there, you've been very patient! :)

Good to hear Safari got updated as well, I know that was the cause of several issues for certain people.

okay, third restart and it took just over a minute from first appearance of the apple logo until my user/password prompt came up. and now things seem pretty zippy. repairing permissions for a third time and once again, a bunch of widgets are being fixed. anyone else get this?

My iChat buddy list is larger now! It has to display my complete name for some reason. I liked before when I could just get the elipse in there and have it nice and tight. Why make these stupid changes Apple?

You haven't upgraded yet? What happened? Spent all your money on the wedding and honeymoon trip? :p :D

The mouse isn't over the dock, but it's magnified.
If you move the mouse over again, the dock will respond once more, but if you don't it will remain magnified indefinitely. This was a real big problem in 10.4.0, was partly solved in 10.4.1 but still persists in some form in 10.4.2/10.4.3.

Two minutes left to my download... I hope all goes well on the other side...

I'm worried about the ClearDock/Transparent Dock issues though. Maybe I'll be lucky?

I am not sure what is with this file size difference because I have a fully updated PB15" and I have 97MB to download so it is definately not because you are going from 10.4.1 rather than 10.4.2. Not sure... maybe we should plot which systems are doing what... I will start..

1.67 PB 15"
Mac OS X 10.4.2 (8C46)

My update was 97mb, my ibook only took about 3 mins to restart, safari seams faster. The only thing is that Onyx does not work, it gets an applescript error. So i guess the updated applescript is causing some wierd things to happen.

Huh?

Mine is still letting me size it below the size of my full name ellipses and all, maybe repair permissions?

Yes, that's perfectly normal. DskU is actually not repairing the permissions in question, it just says it is using special permissions. A bit confusing, but that is what it does. From now on you will see this every time you repair permissions.

Oh my, how perfect

Notice exposé is on... Picture 1.jpg

Here is my issue (And its not my machine, I've have this issue with other machines on Tiger)

I haven't the slightest what my PM was before as far as build, but now it is

10.4.3, build 8F46

My PB is the same.

Installed. 4 Minutes to reboot. Tons of permissions comments (none of any interest). Finally, my ClearDock works just fine. All on the PB in my signature.

Since its a large file, I'm downloading from a campus computer lab computer (dorm rooms are capped at 3mbit/sec). I got the file at about 1.2 megabytes/sec :D I downloaded all 97 megabytes in about a minute! Now it's just taking forever to copy over to my Mac.

Wow! Our work maxes out at 1mbit/sec and that is on a good day:eek:

Took a hell of a time to reboot, more than 2 min. Safari is faster, at start up it seem it have redo the spolight archive on my external HD, took a few minutes. My firewire connection seem more stable, I run into trouble from time to time, now work like a charm. The low sound with internal speaker issue on powerbook seem to be gone finally. Spolight is more responsive.

Note: repair permission after installing, a lot got mess up even if I repair them before installing. There's now a verify start up disk now in disk utility too.

Finally the firewire problem is still there, I begin to suspect intermintant hardware problem, anybody have a good schematic of the firewire for powerbook Ti 1GHz, so I may try to repair it?
