Spotlight seems faster in 10.4.7. It was always smokin fast on my 1 ghz emac (at least as of 10.4.4) but now it seems wicked fast on 10.4.7.

Calibration table based upon following: Slow>Acceptable>Fast>Very Fast>Smokin Fast>Wicked Fast>Supersonic.

My computer crashes after waking from sleep with 10.4.7.
Ok...I've disabled all programs that start when computer boots, all haxies (unsanity & ape), and fixed disk permissions and I still crash every time I wake from sleep. I also booted into a virgin user account I keep for troubleshooting and it also crashes whenever I wake from sleep.

Any suggestions or ideas? I think the last time I saw the "crashed" screen was 4 years ago when I first played with 10.0. (I was an early abopter). Guess I need to reinstall from original CD and upgrade to 10.4.6.

After Update My Dock doesn't work

After Installing tha 10.4.7 update the -Dock- doesn't appear when I place the cursor over the bottom(or left-or right)

Any Ideas... is this a Bug on the update for PowerPC?

Aw bugger! The app called Transparent Dock™ isn't workin' right now :( Anyone havin' same experience? So far so good.

This is kind of interesting. I'd started converting a Divx movie to iPod format on my white 2GHz MacBook when I got the update notification. I finished the conversion, then installed the update (no problems BTW). I then did another export (I'm converting a season's worth of TV episodes).

Before the update, the fans didn't spin up much (if at all) but it would moo (which it would normally do under moderate load). After the update, the fans audibly came on and no moo. So it would appear that Apple's done some tinkering with the MacBook fan settings.

I didn't check the temp pre-update, but it's running at about 70C right now with Quicktime putting a 140% load on the CPU. I'd be surprised if that's significantly different from what it was doing pre-update, but then again it might feel a bit cooler. Who knows, probably placebo effect.

Now, I don't want this to get interpreted as APPLE FIXED THE MOO, because this is only one situation, and it might well moo under different circumstances. But it's definitely behaving different(ly).

Thanks! I bought PocketMac, and it doesn't work very well. I'll give this a spin!

Try Mark/Space's The Missing Sync. Works great for unsupported PDAs. It's $40 download ($50 if they also ship you a CD,) but it's worth it. I've used it for three PDAs in a row now, and have never had a problem. Heck, unlike iSync, it reminds you that you haven't synced in a while, and has a status menu item that gives you quick access.
Ha, the even have my phone on their homepage...this is gonna be great.:)

TV Tracker is broken

TV Tracker widget is broken for me, it wont even flip over nor allow to reload (Command + R)

Dock Issue with 10.4.7

Does going to System Preferences and changing the dock settings there help?

I tried changing the prefs. center, left and right, hide and unhide, etc...

Still set up as static showing at the bottom of screen...

UPDATE:
I tried the good old PRAM trick and now runs like Swiss watch! So for you believers... after installing the update... just do the PRAM restart and enjoy!

That was scarry...

I installed the update with Software Update, then on re-boot it never made it to the OS installing bar but went from grey screen w/apple and whirlygig to blue screen w/whirlygig... and sat there spinning

and sat there spinning

and sat there spinning :(

I left it for over an hour with no change, then finally with fear and trembling pushed and held the power button.

It restarted ok, and I'm up and running now, but I will never do that again without making a backup!

Is there anything I should do to confirm that all's well? Everything seems up to speed...

Updated Safari crashes often when navigating www.espn.com, especially the MLB page.

EDIT - Now the scoreboard page won't load, but pages don't crash.

ESPN's scoreboard page will not load for me either. Also, I went to the Java test page at the link below and it failed. My other computer that I have not updated (still at 10.4.6) completes the test just fine.

Does the Java test page work for anyone else with 10.4.7?

Installed on my iBook G4 (the last revision).

I was looking forward to syncing my Moto v3x, but the iSync install seems to be broken - there was no english language support in iSync  so everything came up in Japanese in iSync - normal everywhere else.

The iSync icon was also missing - just shows a generic app icon.

Downloading the combo update now to see if that helps....

Before anyone else tries a phone and says my xxx phone still isn't supported, check the iSync supported devices page - Apple has updated it for iSync 2.3 already

update went fine on my 12" PB, 1GHz, 1,256 Gig RAM, 100 Gig HD

transparentdock doesn't work anymore. guess 10.4.6 was just luck...

for all those disappointed pb and ibook users who want that "2 finger rightclick" feature:

iScroll2

it also includes the "2 finger scroll" feature

dave

clear dock works with application enhancer. they have universal apps now and they work with 10.4.7

Seems fine here.

We detected your Java environment as follows;

Java Runtime Vendor: Apple Computer, Inc.
Java Runtime Version: 1.5.0_06

Comp: MBP 15" 2.0 GHZ ---Just Updated---

Well with my update nothing with iChat i dont think has been fixed. I tried inviting people to a chat room, no invite. Havent tried video chatting with other users on Aim Trinton...

2. Spotlight is faster

3. IMAP mail servers work fine...

4. Adium is running fine

5. The right click thing works

6. Is a bit more wineing but photobooth or aim video preview still fixes.

7. So far not running too hot or cooler than usual (but im on battery)

As somebody has mentioned already, Spotlight is "wicked fast" now :D

Funny, my Spotlight is a disaster. It takes 20-30 seconds of that twirling circle before it pulls up any results.
