OK...I ended up verifing the disk permissions and it came up with alot of things so I went ahead and repaired the disk permissions. Hopefully this fixed whatever was wrong.displaced said:I'd hold off to see if your Mac's behaving itself properly, and also to give others on the forum to chime in with their opinions. But should you want to, run Disk Utility from /Applications/Utilities. Then, highlight your startup volume in the left pane. You'll see a Verify Disk Permissions button, which will scan the volume's permissions for discrepancies, but not actually modify anything. Repair Disk Permissions will actually 'correct' those discrepances.
Might be worth doing the 'Verify' just to see what it comes back with.

Does the Java test page work for anyone else with 10.4.7?

Any suggestions or ideas? I think the last time I saw the "crashed" screen was 4 years ago when I first played with 10.0. (I was an early abopter). Guess I need to reinstall from original CD and upgrade to 10.4.6.
It appears to be better now after another reboot.Peace said:sounds like a plug-in issue.

But, fmi, what are plugins?
Peace said:Examples of browser plug-ins include Macromedia's Flash,Windows Media Player,Quicktime and others..
For example..
If you go to a website that has a media file on the page like a video it might be a Windows Media Video. If it is and you have Windows Media Player installed and it's NOT a UB that could cause the browser to become unresponsive or perhaps even stop responding or in worse case scenerios.Crash the browser.
What is Butler?sosumi99 said:Everything seems fine after the update except that Butler now crashes immediately after launch. This is on a G5 PowerMac. Anyone else having the same issue?

Same thing happens in iTunes, too, which can be very frustrating when I try to drag song files around. Also, in iTunes, if I highlight multiple tracks, all of the tracks I have highlighted stay highlighted....for a few brief moments and then become un-highlighted. FWIW, I just noticed that my cursor keeps jumping around. Any idea what's going on with any of my issues? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance....
