Updated Safari crashes often when navigating www.espn.com, especially the MLB page.

EDIT - Now the scoreboard page won't load, but pages don't crash.

I discovered that my Safari was using Rosetta (Quit Safari, click on the Safari app Icon, Get Info, UN-check "Open using Rosetta"). After I turned that off, the ESPN scoreboard would display and Safari passed the Java test. Perhaps this will help you.

133 MB for an upgrade to my 2 week old MacBook

This is an unbelievable amount of code. How many lines of code are in 133 MB?:(

I don't want to know what kind of notes they are writing next to the executable lines.

And 37MB for iPhoto? This is truely a bloatware app.

I think OSX is heading down this path as well.

Um... comments don't end up as part of compiled code. I don't think 133MB includes Steve's life story hidden in the comments. Also lines of code means nothing, you could probably write that all on 1 line. :D :p

i agree though that 133 mb is a lot... a lot of useless stuff. the 37mb update to iphoto was 36.99mb of extra 'summer' greeting card themes that i will never use and 0.01mb of bug fixes. yippee!

unusual alarm

Installed fine. At reboot, got an ATI PCI card icon on a black screen with a blinking red indicator on the corner of the card icon and I couldn't boot.

The machine is a Dual G4 with a Powerlogix Dual 1.8 7447 and an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Retail Edition. Shut the machine down, opened the side, blew it out with an airhose to remove accumulated dust.

Works fine now. The machine is in a dirty machine shop, and the temperature has been in the high 90's today.

Just coincidence that the ATI Card would fault on first boot of 10.4.7?

I'm skeptical but otherwise, everything looks okay so far.

Thanks 4 The Link 2 Butler. I Love It!

A File Launcher & clipboard extension.... and maybe a few other things....
Wow! Thanks Bradley, Electro Funk and sosumi. This is great and I had no clue Butler existed until now.

Just did 10.4.7 to my old 1.25GHz Original 15" Aluminum PowerBook G4 and it seems faster than ever. Butler working prefectly on both. I think it's a good idea to reboot several times after completing this install before diagnosing anything. I did so 3 times on the PB and it booted faster each time. Then just for good measure, I repaired permissions and rebooted once more. All seems to be working better than ever. I am big on placebo effect. :D

This version of Tiger is definitely faster all around. I know you think it couldn't be faster on a Quad, but that is what I am perceiving.

Has anyone noticed this little bit of goodness?
