Not sure if this has been mentioned, but in my opinion, this is a good thing; the fans come on when the MacBook Pro even THINKS about getting hot. It seems like it is running cooler since the fans are actually running. But they aren't on CONSTANTLY. :D :D :D :) :) :)   (haha get it 'cool' face :p )

What Model MacBook Pro?

What model MacBook Pro? There are 3 different models Apple sells - two 15" and one 17".

You need to install your mighty mouse software.

Update great so far (26 days since re-boot and disconnected 2nd display might have contributed)

:D

Fixes Moto SLVR Bluetooth

Motorola SLVR L7s sold in Europe ship with different firmware than those from Cingular in the US. Previously, the euro models would not pair with OS X via bluetooth while the Cingular-branded models had no problem.

After this update I'm happy to report that the SLVR I purchased in Germany pairs, syncs, and file transfers like a charm.

(On a side note...) The euro SLVRs have problems connecting via bluetooth to many other devices (handsfree, navigation units, etc) as well. It seems as though the flaw was with Motorola, not Apple. So I'm wondering if it's common practice for Apple engineers to introduce new code as work-arounds for other devices' bugs. I'm happy they did for my sake, but the principle in general reeks of Windows bloat, don't you think?

A Long 9 Months 'til Leopard

Yay:) One step closer to Leopard:D
Gonna be a long 9 months with only two updates left before fractionalization sets in. I wonder if the groundwork is in place to ship Leopard in January instead of April 2007 (my guess).

I'm waiting for the 8 core Leopard driven Mac Pro next Spring.

One thing I noticed in the description page on the Apple site is this:

Guess that means folks who use Shapeshifter and the likes should be careful when updating.
the only problem with mod software ive had is with transperant dock but nothing with uno (yet)

David, I hate you :(

My 15" 2.16 MBP with 2gb RAM is running just as hot unfortunately.

I wish they would just fix the darn thing already :( I don't want to have to replace it so soon.

Not Apple's fault

No new problems yet. But disappointed as hell that my phone still won't sync. This is just pathetic on Apple's part.

What brand and type of phone do you own? Mine is a Samsung D600 which also won't sync. But that's up to Samsung as they will not make any details available about the phone's syncing process. On windows they also use their own sync tool.

has anyone noticed a drop in case temperature of their macbook?
i also have not heard a moo... (yet).

I have noticed while running from the battery it is much cooler than usual, and no moo. But once I plug it in to the power adapter, it gets REALLY hot and moos plenty.

Yeah, Steve said end of 2006 > early 2007 ;)

And Adium works fine for me :D

I'm back up and running...reboot took four minutes on my 1.67 GHz PB. A little bit of concern about the length of time it spent on the blue screen, but the desktop eventually came up. Safari now at 2.0.4...haven't had a chance to look around at anything else.

Safari has been at 2.0.4 since the last update i believe. so unless you didnt have it then, then fair enough!

133mb update for my MB and no real differences notcied so far except for it runs cooler and thats all I really wanted.......Everything seems pretty stable and maybe a bit snappier but thats what I always think when there's an update,
